Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Infuriating viewers who've forgotten the last 7 seasons.
It's infuriating how so many people have reacted since this aired. It's like everyone has forgotten what the first few seasons were about in favour of JUST the White Walkers. What were people expecting? Watch it again from the beginning without many breaks. The politics of the show was always going to dictate how the ending was. Yeah, it was three episodes too short and the ending wasn't sexy...but the signs were always there. You all just focused on the White Walkers too much. Daenerys was ALWAYS on a tipping point and showed her anger many times before the stakes became massive in the end...but she was always quick tempered and impulsive. Just watch it from Season 2 onwards. And then the uproar about Jon not being King. Again, it's there from
Season 1. If you are a Kingslayer, or in this case, Queenslayer, you cannot sit on the Iron Throne. Then there's the ending. It's not sexy but all the signs were there from Day 1 that that would end up being like that. And it's cemented by their laughing at Sam at the end when he suggests something different. This world will never change and arrogance and entitlement will always reign and that is literally what you got from Day 1. The problem fans got is that the White Walkers were so damn good, that everything else felt small and annoying once it ramped up
in Season 7. People just forgot about the machinations of the way characters are from the first 6 seasons. But it's all there. So to complain about it after makes me mad. It was always gonna end that way as they told us throughout that it would. Fans just had their rose-tinted glasses on for a Jon on the throne ending after an all-action onslaught of White Walkers, that they forgot this. It's not really Game of Thrones fault at all. It was fans with too high expectations on the final outcome that forgot what the crux of the show was despite sitting through similar subject matter for years before. It wasn't the sexiest ending but it was the only ending it could be without losing the whole point of the world it set up for you for about 6 seasons before the action ramped up. Watch it again all the way through without many breaks and you'll see I'm right.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation: The Forge at the Forest of Forever (2021)
Ignore the low reviews! Bad faith morons trying to rig it.
Having been a fan of MOTU as a kid, I was well up for its return. I knew it was a little hokey after re-watching them as an adult, so the hokeyness here is absolutely fine. The story is good and does something the original series never did. Plot twists.
How sad and pathetic it is then that a labour of love from a fan has been hijacked by idiots behind their keyboards who got together, and rated en masse to bring its score down on here and Rotten Tomatoes.
I really enjoyed these 5 episodes and am looking forward to more. If you're not one of the embarrassing trolls, then watch it and you'll see I'm right.
Rick and Morty: The Vat of Acid Episode (2020)
What a fun ride!!!
Just superb fun! Completely hilarious. Truly one of the best episodes of Rick and Morty!
Ghostbusters (2016)
Fun film that has unfairly received more criticism than most 'worst ever movies'!
Funny film that is worth watching and is not the 'worst ever film' despite the ridiculous criticism. However, it does fall short of the mark in comparison to what I hoped it would be. Nothing can compare to the original so I'm not gonna compare it to that but there are moments that feel slightly forced or uncomfortable which I didn't get in Feig's previous movies. I feel it's a little miscast with some of the leads and that it should have been scarier. Chris Hemsworth is amazingly funny in it. Really fun performance from him. There are still plenty of laugh out loud moments and it is a good film. Just probably not for fans of the original. I feel the film should have a direct connection to it which could have catered for the original fans while still going ahead with the way they did it for new fans. So, only slightly disappointing for me but definitely worth watching if you want to watch a fun film.
