Ghost Whisperer (2005–2010)

Seen 1 episode, you've seen them all

How can this show be appreciated?

I bought the first season to see if it was nice, but after only a few episodes, I was pretty sure it wasn't!

Every episode is the same:

1) You can see me? 2) Fix my stuff! 3) Bye bye into the light.

And that's it.

Personally I think series where you can skip 5 episodes and not miss anything are a little stupid. Except if they are meant to be funny, like Friends, you could watch any episode without any prior knowledge of any plot and still find it funny. But if the series is not meant to be funny sit-com style, there has to be a story going through episodes and seasons that you can remember and relate to.

I agree that Jennifer is a pretty girl but that's all the positive information I can give about this series. The location is always the same old boring town, the co-actors are like high-school-play-actors like that co-worker in the antique shop and basically every 'ghost' in the episodes is like lost on camera. I have no idea why a pilot of this series would evolve into a season act. Maybe it's just because Jennifer Love Hewitt wears a semi-transparent night gown now and then and that makes the guys out there want to watch it. I can think of no other reason to watch this production of boredom.

Nip/Tuck (2003–2010)
8/10
Quite entertaining but up and down

Warning: Spoilers
I've watched season 1-5 of nip/tuck and I am waiting for season six to be available in my part of the world.

Season one was no doubt the best. The way that the drug-dealer Escobar wiggled his way into their lives, got total control over them and forced them to remove the drug-loaded breast-implants from the poor "mules" was very catchy and I couldn't wait for the next episode. Then came the final episode where they changed the guy into another FBI-wanted criminal and he just thought he was looking good until he showed up at the airport. That last episode was amazing and I was totally stunned by the twist and plot of the series. REALLY REALLY GOOD! Then the second and third season were a little boring with all the stuff about Matt partying around with a transvestite shrink and psycho-nazi girlfriend/father. But of course there were still good times, like when Christian were in bed with a mother and daughter and he seemed to be having a deep conversation with the mother, interrupting it to say "a little less teeth down there, sweetheart" to the daughter was of course a typical "christian troy moment".

Season 5 however took on a new action as the boys were now in LA kicking it and getting to be celebrities in TV shows. Sean got that older woman to be his agent and she turned out to be a crazy, teddy-bear-stuffing woman. The last episode I've watched ended with her stabbing Sean in the operating room and him laying on the floor bleeding to death, so I am pretty anxious about seeing the next episode :) Sorry to spoil up the entire series like this, but I am mostly writing to other fans who have seen the same episodes as me.

Moulin Rouge! (2001)

Annoying
31 January 2009
I think this film is absolutely annoying. Why are we living in an age where every wannabe-actor is suddenly a great singer and performer. So far until date, Nicole Kidman's only good performances has been exposing her body either naked or in tight or see-through costumes (in her youth) on camera and Ewan McGregor is a very handsome man but not a deep feeling character actor. Good for Star-Wars, The Island and other action packed no-brainers.

So, in this movie you are not seeing the young, hot Nicole and you are forced to witness Ewan as a deep wanna-be bourgeois poet-type which comes out rather annoying.

They have taken hits from the last 20-30 years and over-stuffed the movie with them for the hope of recognition appeal, however, hearing every song from my youth spoiled by never-ending sustains in a less-then-flattering 'opera-style' just made me feel more and more annoyed.

The plot of the movie would last around 5 minutes if they didn't have the lingering tones (forever) to make the 2 hours.

I like being reminded of older songs in a modern way, but I would rather hear Christina Aguilera sing 'Lady Marmalade' 10 times than watch this movie again.

Be Cool (2005)
9/10
I really like this movie
16 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand why so many people here trash this movie. It is one of my favorites...

I think all the characters in the movie are so distinct and kind of idiotic, that you can't help loving them all, in a certain way.

From Chili (Travolta) who's on top of every situation, The definition of cool to Sin LaSalle (Cedric) who's the rich African-American gone gangster with a college degree to the idiotic RaJi (Vaughn) who's "He thinks he's black" pop-manager and general idiot -and his muscle-man Eliott (The Rock) who's a gay 350 lbs bodyguard. The list could go on, as I think every character in this movie is noticeable.

The appearance by Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) in this movie is also very nice. There is a scene where Travolta and Thurman wants Tyler to listen good and Travolta gives him a new look upon his own state of mind as he was writing a rock-song 20 years ago. The way Steven Tyler after a while accepts the analysis is just lovely.

----- SPOILER ------ In the end when Linda Moon is performing at the (whatever)-awards and Eliott is a dancer in the show while RaJi is going up in flames in the background video, every thing just seems to come together in a beautiful, yet -of course- very Hollywood'sh kind of way, but I always enjoy that part so much, even though I've seen the movie 10 times or more. And even if that's not enough, you get the billboard from "Samoan Rendez Vous" where Eliott is starring with Nicole Kidman as they all drive off... It is just beautiful and at the same time so damn funny.

-------------------- This movie is of course not some epic drama like Braveheart, Rob Roy or Godfather. It is also not a light comedy like Liar Liar, Dumb and Dumber or Fletch... But I behold that this movie is more than worth watching and has a wide range of super-star actors doing something else than they always do... In the most adorable and funny way.

I highly recommend this movie!
