Oh dear
14 August 2023
Tina Fey is such a terrible actress and looks so old and out of place in this movie it makes what was a promising start turn to mulch very quickly.

John Hamm looks disinterested at best and the little Indian actor from Ted Lasso isn't funny (believe it or not he is meant to be a comedian).

The movie has the feel of a B movie but the story does start well.

Unfortunately the side story and incredibly awkward romance between Hamm and Fey like so many films now makes you loose complete interest in the main storyline.

The moment they are in a hotel room discussing their past relationships (one windowed and one divorce) the STOP button on the remote was firmly pressed.

Makes you realise how good the script for Mad Men really was as John Hamm displayed that his acting skills aren't as broad as Hollywood gives him credit. Either that or maybe this is actually where he belongs. In B rated movies.

Don't waste your time.

Jamie Alexander
7 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Jamie Alexander is what is wrong with this movie. Suspense and first person perspective camera angles give this film a rough edge which at times were great. Unfortunately it's still a mystery to me how Jamie Alexander gets any roles She is so wooden in this movie, yet is all smiles at the end after being kidnapped, shackled and held hostage...

Painful
5 May 2022
Awkwanfina or however you spell her name was the pointless character I've ever seen in any movie. Zero relevance and attempting to be funny when you aren't funny makes hard watching. The film in whole was painful to watch, only watchable due to the well choreographed fight scenes.

Not a supper hero movie that needed making, and certainly not this badly.

British comedy drama making at its absolute best.

Humorously entertaining and Stephen Graham is superb as the lead character.

No matter how many years pass this is always great watch.. Highly recommended!

Insult to Steve Rodgers

Wyatt Russell in Caps uniform is painful but his acting and dialogue they have given him is even worse. Big fan of both these MCU characters and unfortunately this series does little to add to franchise.

Snooze fest and confused

Sluggish writing from Pete Berg. Would expect better. Marky Mark is himself as always. I will say the ending is actually the best part.

The fact I fell asleep half way through says it all though ..

Tragic
29 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
With more plot holes than a fisherman's net this film is atrocious from start to end. Not with standing the amount of surgery Sandra (couldn't act her way out of a paper bag) Bullock has had this film was arguably one of the worst movies I've seen in years....Rihanna should stick to singing please as she zero acting ability.. Cate Blanchett is badly mis-cast in her role....An Indian jeweller that can dismantle a necklace of this size in a few minutes and reconstruct over 10 pieces of jewellery in a mere minutes is just absurd and totally unbelievable...The Other cast members added nothing to a film crying out for some depth and originality..I could go on and on about how bad the script, acting and story were but I have already wasted enough time watching this peace of trash..............AVOID At all costs...Do Yourself a favour and watch the original Oceans 11 movie..Classic

Worse than the Phantom Menace
15 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This film is as bad as Daisy Ridley's acting....Absolutely shocking..

Carrie Fisher (RIP) looked like she had been bought back from the afterlife to act in this disgrace of a movie. Her acting was dreadful, no substance to her like the good old days. As mentioned above Daisy Ridley (Ray) is a terrible actress and so badly miscast in these films it makes any scene she is in painful to watch. Her attempts at using a light-saber or mastering the force are so bad they make my 9 year old nephews impersonations look Oscar worthy.

When you step back and analyse The Last Jedi, its basically the same storyline as its predecessor with a couple of differences.

The camera work towards the end of the film at the Rebel base is uncomfortable and awkward. Also, please tell me how the illusion that is Luke can touch Leia but yet Kylo Ren obviously can't with this laser sword?? One of many many continuity flaws.

The only shining light are the funny little creatures from the island Luke is based on when they make their way into the Falcon with Chewwie....and ofcourse the droids as always.

With the introduction of mild swearing and as a fan of the originals l honestly think these recent incarnations are truly embarrassing. They make the Phantom Menace look like a great Star Wars film. Unlike the originals they provide nothing to make you want to watch them over and over again. The films from the late 70's & early 80's not only had George Lucas as the Director, but great stories with purpose behind them, they were well scripted and made real by great actors and supporting cast. Nowadays they have none of that and l believe this is one of the main problems.

Any combination of Disney and J.J Abrams is simply a cash cow that cares little for originality and longevity.

Safe to say l would never watch this ever again and hold little hope for the next one.

Not a bad story, but far too many inconsistencies to make it entertaining till the end.

Idris Ilba l never thought was too bad an actor until l saw this and l've seen farts act their way out of someone's pants better. I really hope the aren't serious about considering him for the next Bond. Kate Winslet (Yawn Yawn) is Kate Winslet as she is in every movie she has ever been in. The chemistry between the two on screen was so non plus that the dog and Idris had more of a report than his so called co-star. The love scene was just as painful to watch. Clearly they hadn't paid each actor enough to make it atleast the slightest bit believable. To think l almost went to see this at the cinema.....Godbless torrents!

Good but could have been great
27 October 2016
I watched this last night and it was a very enticing movie, but lacked something that could have turned a very good movie into something to be remembered.

Brian Cranston and John Leguizamo are both great in their lead and supporting roles. The supporting cast all do very well, the story from what l have read is a good enactment from real life into a movie, but somehow this film always pushes you towards wanting something more, something a little more gripping. Whilst l like the pace of the movie, the character development needed more, the backstory was very quickly done and felt far too pushed through. The directors didn't seem to want to develop the underlying tension between Cranston and Ryan or allow the audience to grow with any of the characters, where you feel the pain, anxiety, pressure.

The ending like so many films in Hollywood these days is rushed and feels like an anti-climax. It's not often l say this but the film could have used another 20 minutes or so to add other dimensions that would likely have left you feeling slightly more fulfilled. 7/10

The most painful comedy of 2016
26 May 2016
I will keep this short, as a group of us did watching this painful excuse of a comedy.

Whilst the plot is at least passable, the lead female actress quickly puts you off!

FACT, Anna Kendrick is NOT funny, at all! Not only is she awkward on camera, but as an actress she doesn't display any qualities of a comedic actor. In actual fact she is quite boring and tiring on the eye.

Sam Rockwell & Tim Roth are both good quality actors, who can have comedic charm, but unfortunately due to Miss Kendrick's character after 30 painful minutes we simply couldn't endure to watch anymore of this movie. Dare l say it, but this was even more painful to watch than the second of the Bad Neighbours movies, and that is saying a lot.

When will there be a legitimate laugh out loud comedy released with real comedic actors who have on screen chemistry. We may not get another Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor, but please stop any more of these sub-par films attempting to be funny and failing in many peoples opinion.
