Perception (2012–2015)
10/10
One of the best shows on TV ever!
28 September 2023
Here it is 8 years after the series ended and I have been re-watching it. What a delight. I am a fan of Eric McCormack and enjoyed him in "Travelers" as well as "Will and Grace". I wish "Perception" had run longer. The cast was perfect. I never felt the show hit any false notes, behavior, or story points. It's funny, touching, interesting - a show you can sink into and binge. Oh, gawd, I have 181 more words to write. Fortunately, this show has not aged. It's still relevant. Oh, as a special bonus, it also stars Levar Burton as Eric's boss and humor ensues. So, looking for an entertaining show of quality that's humorous, comfortable and interesting? Then binge of this delight.

Poker Face (2023– )
10/10
A great show like they don't make anymore.
25 August 2023
I hemmed and hawed about watching this show. Big mistake. Once I started I was hooked. This is one of the top shows ever streamed and if you don't watch, you're losing out. Natasha Lyonne was excellent in OITNB and she continues to be excellent in Poker Face. She's likeable, funny, sweet and fearless. She's also charming. I found all the stories to be compelling in this series. Her character gets along with every one until she discovers a murder. As other reviewers have said she's kind of like Colombo and keeps coming back to ask questions. Her BS meter is always running. It's fun to watch her listen to someone who has just lied and she pops back, "bulls**t. Don't pass this one up!!

Um . . . !
11 August 2023
I started out with a good vibe on this movie because I like Neal McDonough and Tommy Flanagan. However, that good vibe dissipated pretty quickly. Why? One reason - the actress playing Catherine. So bad. Her character comes across as naive and is all over the board. When you think she'd shut up and not antagonize the bad guys, she opens her mouth and makes it worse. No common sense. And she only gets worse as the show goes on. I don't know how much I should blame the actress, a poor script, a lousy director or a crappy budget. Probably a little of each. I'm an hour in and I feel the urge to turn the movie off, yet, on the other hand, I think I should watch it to the end out of morbid curiosity. I wouldn't recommend this movie, no matter how much you like Neal and Tommy.

Amazing!
20 July 2023
You read the title with the word Geography and your eyes glaze over. But, give it a chance and you'll be hooked! This show was amazing for me. It made me smile and made me feel happy. Rainn is such an inquisitive, curious person. His interaction with all the different people seems to come so naturally from him. He's very open to everything, especially joy. I don't know if a group of my friends could play some of the games shown and laugh so much. I don't know if any of my friends would even be interested in playing games. I definitely recommend this wonderful travel escape Rainn takes us on. I hope this show has more than one season because I'm ready to travel with him again.

Phenomenal!
23 June 2023
People have no patience for suspense and building a story, so we end up with reviews like these that say it was boring and slow. I initially thought that, but I liked the actors and I had trust in Jordan Peele, so I ignored those comments. I found this to be a delicious film! Plenty of suspense and nail biting with some laughs. I loved the actors - Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer. They were fantastic with Daniel the handsome, quiet cowboy and Keke, his crazy sister screaming all the time (funny), but sharp as a whip. I had not seen any of Jordan Peele's films, much as I wanted to, so I was very happy to find this on Prime. A little cowboy and a little sci-fi all mixed with great fear for the characters. To me it was edge of my seat scary as the film progressed. This was a modern Cowboy film. A good old American story. Do watch it. The wild ride is well worth it!

So - So.
15 March 2023
Season 1 with Gill and Sarah and Hodges was OK. Didn't have the cohesiveness of the original CSI but Sarah did a great job keeping up. Petersen felt very reserved and distant from Sarah. The 2nd season somehow just fell flat even with Catherine back. Overall, good acting by Lex Medlin, Matt Lauria and Paula Newsome and returning character guests, Gill, Sarah, Hodges and Catherine.

I do wish that Mandeep Dhillon and Aruana Guerra would disappear. Dhillon is way too over the top with her constantly surprised wide eyes and attitude. Guerra is just not a comfortable nor eexy character. The show has none of the brilliance and magic of the original. Maybe we're all too old and tired.

Halo (2022– )

Great show, but great enough to make me wait for season 2 next year?
11 September 2022
I'm really enjoying this show. Pablo Schreiber is terrific. So is the Dr. And most of the cast. I kind of agree, get rid of Kwan, but, she's brings all the trouble to the forefront. This is a great 9 episode show.

And, that is what I am writing about. Why do show producers take 1 year or more to get a 2nd season out. By that time, I've forgotten most of the story. I have stopped watching some shows due to their long absence from the screen. I've simply lost interest in the story and the show. Perhaps the finger should be pointed at the channel, Paramount Plus, in this case. It's estimated the show will be back out next summer with Season 2. That's great, but I may not be interested by then.

Outstanding show
20 August 2022
This series just sucked me in from the get-go. The cast was excellent, especially the two leads, Thomas Jane and Nicole Chamoun. Located in Australia, where the ocean meets the crocodile filled river and the tropical, swampy mangrove forests create spooky shadows, this whodunnit twists and turns, keeping you guessing. Oh yeah, there are snakes as well. Not too many, but enough to make me squirm in a couple of scenes. I didn't find anything "off" in this story. No gaffes, no stupid dialogue, just good writing and acting. Highly recommend.

Unbelievably bad.
7 July 2022
I love Viking stuff, history, stories, etc. I was so looking forward to watching this movie that I ended up renting it on Prime. OMG - what a mistake. I kept waiting for the dialog and acting to get better, but it never did. Overly dramatic acting, even from Nicole Kidman. Gasp! I cannot recommend this movie at all. Boring, boring, boring. One of the worst films I have ever seen.

Grips you and holds you till the very end.

A fabulous cast for a dark, cold tale among the ice flows of the far north. Colin Farrell, in particular, just blew me away. He comes across as huge brute of a man and stays large in the camera eye not only physically, but mentally. He creates one scary dude! His facial expressions are amazing extending his power over people. Very dangerous character. This is maybe too much of a man's story, but as a woman it kept me glued to the screen. The entire cast evoked the period of time when whalers lived hard and rough on the open ocean. Excellent work. 9/10.

Don't be put off by the haters! This show is funny!
12 May 2022
I want to be entertained. That can range from Shakespeare to Hot Fuzz to Mission Impossible to this show. It's funny and makes me laugh and feel good away from the Covid world. I like both the leads. They are well balanced together and complement each other. The supporting staff, consisting primarily of 3 good looking men doesn't hurt. Do yourself a favor, sit down and enjoy this wonderful comedy.

Love Jean Reno
9 May 2022
While this may not be the best show Jean Reno has ever made, I still enjoyed it very much! It is kind of stiff in parts, forced in others, but he's worth watching regardless. I do recommend this. The only part that bugs everyone is that this takes place in Paris, but everyone speaks English with an American accent, except for Jean. Where's all the French?

Firebite (2021–2022)

Not very good.
27 March 2022
Amazon Prime has the show sitting with a 7.3 IMDB rating, which is one of the main reasons I decided to watch. However, when you check IMDB, Firebite is only ranked at a 5.3 which fits better, but I gave it a 4. Boring. Too much creeping (poorly, if that is possible) around in vampire caves. Episode 4 has a total black out scene with only grunts and 'ughs' as our heros battle vampires in the dark. Acting is so-so. Young Neeks only has one level of emotion - sullen. I know it's hard to find a good scary movie. I took a chance on this one, but it's not it.

Leonard is wonderful!

Throughout the seasons I have really enjoyed Leonard. Al Weaver who plays Leonard is an absolute delight in bringing his character to life. I love all the characters but Leonard is my favorite.

I was very entertained and binged the whole series.
6 February 2022
This Amazon original is so much better than several others like Wheel of Time and The Tomorrow War. Strong cast with Alan Ritchson doing a fabulous job as Reacher. Then a couple of my favorite actors, Matthew Godwin (I Zombie) and Bruce McGill (Animal House). I hope Amazon has at least one more season of this show scheduled if not 2 or more.

First season is done.
24 December 2021
I still don't grasp what the brass ring is for this show. Why are they doing what they are doing? Ok, I know they're fighting a dark power - a bad guy. I'm just not excited by this show. Concept of channeling is cool, but that only works so many times before it just becomes filler. What does the bond between a warder and an aes sedai mean? I just don't understand why they have a bond when they can have strong feelings for another person. Seems that would clog up the bond. I don't find the fantasy in this show compelling. It had not dredged up any feelings for anyone character in the show. I have no connection. Sigh. Finding good Sci-Fi is hard. I'm disappointed. I suspect that many will love this show.

I want to like this BUT
22 December 2021
The character Cameron plays is just the kind of woman I can't stand. She's just a mess. I enjoy Tom as he's always fun to watch in his movies, but Cameron is a ditzy klutz that does not listen. That is the reason I have given this 5/10. I guess I'm too old to buy in to the romantic aspect of her being a dingbat.

The kid drove me crazy!
6 December 2021
Fun fantasy movie with great actors. Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Robert Carlisle, Arum Armstrong- all great, but I felt that each of them cringed a little inside with some of the dumb lines they had to deliver, primarily to the hero, Eragon. Eragon - what a putz! Terrible role with awful lines and no subtlety.

Entertaining. Good cast.
27 February 2021
Wow - so many bad reviews. I understand people's problem with Scott Eastwood's character because that's how I felt at the beginning - just not buying his character. Then, little cracks began to show and the twist surprises you. It puts everything earlier in perspective and makes sense. Great cast of supporting actors. Walter Goggins is one of my favorites. I give this movie a 7 or 7.5. I recommend.

I can't believe Truth Seekers is not being renewed. Such a fun show with a great cast. So much boring stuff on Prime and they cancel this creative, interesting show. Not cool, Prime.

Gunnhild
11 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The swimming scene with Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) was stunning. Her dive was perfect and when she began to swim, I remembered that she was an Olympic swimmer. Magnificent breaststroke! So beautiful. I'd like to know where she was swimming and how cold that water was!

Watch This Documentary!
2 January 2021
I thoroughly liked this documentary. These men were heroes. Brave beyond belief. This documentary may seem dry because we Americans like hot action, but understanding that it was people like these men who soldiered on that helped win the war. The level of fear and understanding of what could happen if they were caught and how many other people would be affected is overwhelming. All the quiet towns people who carried messages and aided as they could were incredibly brave. I don't think people today appreciate the fear the Nazi's struck into the World's heart. The loss of democracy was worth fighting for.

A much needed film for right now, but a classic.
28 November 2020
I saw Paul Bettany, one of my favorite actors, listed and without having any clue as to what the film was about, I drove in and I'm so glad I did. Such a wondeful film to melt into for a lazy day during Covid pandemic. Such an escape and a warm hug at the end. I loved the entire cast. Alan Ball wrote a magical script. Highly recommend.

Doesn't hit the mark
20 October 2020
I really wanted to like this series, but I just couldn't get past Cara Delevingne in the lead. There is zero chemistry between her and Orlando. As someone else mentioned, it could be set in World War 1. The fantasy world doesn't hit the mark. I really wanted to like this show but it never grabbed me.
