Another Terribly Written Episode
18 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Once again, the SVU writers think we the audience are absolute morons. Rollins going rogue and not telling her superior that she's going to set a trap? Without a warrant ready? Without authorization?? While the investigation is ongoing?? Is Rollins 12 years old in her 1st year on the force that she doesn't know how the law works?? It's beyond ridiculous. Along with this, Benson herself has gone rogue so her character to all of a sudden act like she's "Follow All the Rules Saint" Benson is also ludicrous and out of character.

And don't get me started on the annoying vlogger girl. She has over 100,000 followers? That means she makes money from her site and therefore is an open target to get sued for libel because she has no evidence to prove her case AND she kept changing her story. No one drops that kind of information when they've gotten that big without consulting a lawyer. Once again, treating us the audience like we're ignoramuses. And if they want to show the complexities of her situation, then they should've focused on that, as well as not make her one of the most annoying people so there's zero empathy for the victim.

All in all, this episode left me eye-rolling yet again. It could've been a good episode if they had just worked a little harder and didn't assume we would fall for the drama. This was written in the latter half of the 2000s - the audience doesn't fall for cheap antics.

Benson Taken Hostage AGAIN
13 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It was a good episode. However, just how many times is Benson going to be taken hostage?? It's pretty tiresome at this point, including the previous episode when Noah briefly went missing. Do they keep torturing her since she's the audience favorite? Because trauma fatigue is a thing. And at this point, it's just not believable.

As for the episode, it was written and acted really well. We've obviously seen a lot of hostage situations in movies, and even SVU itself. And nothing was new or groundbreaking. But it still brought tension and suspense all the way to the end of the episode.

As a stand alone episode (without knowing all of the multiple times Benson's involvement), it's one of the better SVU episodes.

Lazy A$$ Soap Opera Drama Writing
26 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This had to have been one of the laziest episodes for SVU starting from the get go of milking the William Lewis character. Others have shared/posted about how this is just beating a dead horse. Another lazy writing element is the GSR test - like really? It's obvious to me as a lay person that there would be barely any gun powder reside on Benson's hand.

Thirdly, someone else wrote about how the blood spatter pattern, as well as the gun shot wound, would obviously show where Benson was located - as someone else pointed out, Benson would have needed a Mr Stretchy arm to have shot him from behind.

How ignorant and idiotic do the writers think we the audience are?? It's insulting and lazy writing soap opera writing.

Thank goodness for Murphy's character and his entire speech at the end. It was like a balm to a frustrated soul after eye-rolling the entire episode.

God Awful Dialogue and Mediocre Acting
2 December 2023
I really wanted to like this show but dear goodness, the script and dialogue are awful. It comes across like it was written for some terrible 1988 cheesy B movie. And while I love the Asian actor representation, Anna Sawai and Ren Watabe need some major acting coaching cause ooof - they are cringe to watch with stale wooden performances while also overacting all at the same time - show your horror so overly strain your eyes to act like you're stressed! I really hope their acting gets better as the show progresses. But perhaps it's not even their fault since the dialogue itself is so horrendous and maybe it's just terrible direction (ie: George Lucas is a brilliant concept creator but abominable director - how do you make Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman bad performers??). Everything is predictable but also so forced, again like some 1980s after school special about not doing drugs.

The special effects aren't bad (at least for this episode). I'll probably stick it out through episode 2 and hopefully it'll get better.

A Hail Mary to Not Get Canceled
9 November 2023
For those of who don't understand why this episode exists, they released this as an appeal to executives to not cancel the show by showing folks where the show was headed in the final season. Fringe was a show that was saved twice by us the fans and we are so lucky that we got to go to the end of the journey, albeit with a shorter final season.

So while there isn't as much consistency because they couldn't fully flesh it out, it ultimately did what it needed to do and the show was renewed for a final time and we all got the closure we deserved with this marvelous show.

So stop your whining!! 🙄

Too Hammy
27 January 2023
The movie was way too hammy in its humor versus the wittiness that was Ragnarok. In Ragnarok, the humor always supported the storyline to move forward. This movie just had collected bits instead of a cohesive story - like a long SNL episode. Also the scene with the Guardians was such a waste. Thor just reverted back to his arrogant pre-Infinity War self?? It makes no sense. What was the point of all of that?? And Christian Bale's talent was absolutely wasted with zero God Butcher violence and eeriness happening. The entire movie was so very disappointing. Ultimately, it's like Taika unsuccessfully tried to make Thor a Monty Python frat boy movie with cheesy humor.

Warrior Nun (2020–2022)

A pseudo Gen Z Buffy x Lost's frustratingly unanswered Qs
28 November 2022
The show overall was intriguing enough to keep me going, ESPECIALLY all the supporting cast - they were all such amazing actors. The main character, Ava, however seriously grates your nerves. It literally takes her 15 episodes from S1 through S2 to even somewhat get her head out of her ass. She's obtuse, idiotic, emotional, immature, and not in any cute charming way. It's fine she had an attitude, it was the fact that she was such a moron. Perhaps it was her lines but also Alba Baptista is pales in comparison to the other actors. Her supporting cast really carries her, in particular, Kristina Tonteri-Young. That woman needs her own tv show!! I can't believe she only has 4 other credits on her IMDb resume. Mother Superior was also an amazing actress. The other nuns (outside of the actual warrior nun) were all adorable but major badasses. The action sequences were great and the plot as a whole was great. There were just a lot of sections that the dialogue was very much like Lost in the way they would never answer questions and aren't we past that kind of trope? Just tell us what the plan is - the pretend secrecy is such an eye-roll. There were other items with major plot holes like how the hell did the group know where the other group was? A lot of those missing connective tissues. But I still recommend the show for anyone wanting a bit of sci-fi fantasy spiritual popcorn watch. Not the greatest show out there but not the worst, for sure.

Always Been Left Just Better Writing
2 November 2022
Listen all of you whining about left wing liberal agenda - Law and Order has ALWAYS been left. If any of you actually watched the show, you'd know this. Having said that, the writing for both plot and dialogue are so weak. The dialogue is for elementary school education law information. And everyone outside of Anthony Anderson and Sam Waterston is over-acting and it's hard to watch. I seriously don't understand cause some of the cast are, or were, good actors in other shows. It's like first year screenwriters are in the writing room. Please don't do this to such an amazing legendary show. It's heartbreaking.

Overacting Galore
9 June 2022
Outside of Anthony Anderson and Sam Waterston, everyone else are overacting like this is their first tv shows. What is with Camryn Manheim trying so hard to be the tough cop?? It's making me cringe and I'm so sad because Law and Order was and is absolutely one of my all-time favorite show. I don't know if I'll be able to watch this entire show.

Only one scene worth saving
14 March 2022
The only scene that remotely resembled the original show was between Charlotte and Miranda being honest and vulnerable about how difficult motherhood was. That made me tear up. Outside of that, this entire movie is a dumpster pile of trash.

Outside of Miranda's Awfulness...
13 March 2022
Outside of Miranda's awfulness, this episode had glimmers of the old show. Raw, authentic, starting to talk about taboo topics normally not discussed. Moms dealing with daughter's periods and older women exploring menopause. And of course, the ever question of life after death both figuratively and literally. But for the love of all that is good, can Charlotte and Miranda stop being so over the top about everything???

Powerfully Accurate in Telling the Complexities of MeToo
5 January 2020
The show is so so good and accurate in telling the complexities of #metoo, power dynamics, greed, fame, everything involved. It's a must watch show. It takes awhile to unfold all the characters' stories but it's really worth the journey. I'm so grateful women's stories are continually coming to light and hopeful for the next generation that they would feel safe to speak up and out for themselves and others. And may more people in positions of power and privilege do what Alex Levy chose to do. We have a choice to do what's right. Let's do it together.

I Judge People on Whether They Liked This Movie
7 January 2019
And I love John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. But just so much no with this movie. It's an insult to intelligent movie watchers, and if you liked this movie, I question your intellect, taste, and critical assessment skills.

SKIP this and save yourself time.
