Why?
6 December 2008
Yet another movie about middle aged men acting like children. How original. This is typical for a Will Ferrell movie. Oh yeah, and let's see how many times we can put the F word in it for no reason. The funniest one in the movie is Kathryn Hahn, she is hilarious. The rest of the supporting cast is pretty good and with that there are only a couple of funny bits, like the Christmas dinner. It was great to see Mary Steenburgen in something again. The rest of the movie is just sad. Why is it that the longer comic actors are acting, and getting paid more and more money, the less funny they become? Also I loved John C. Reilly in Walk Hard, but this time 'round he should have just said no thanks. Don't waste your time or money.

Raiders from Space
15 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
O.k. so I also had a bit of a problem with the plot of this latest Indiana Jones movie. It has the look, feel, and excitement of the previous film's. But, aliens? Don't get me wrong, I like alien's but i'm not sure they belong in an Indiana Jones movie. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they came up with that idea. However it is still a pretty good movie. Harrison Ford still kicks butt, and I was happy to see Karen Allen brought back in. I have also become a fan of Shia LaBeouf thanks to Transformers, even if I can't pronounce his name. And I have yet to see Cate Blanchett give a bad performance. Really is it such a stretch from a golden box with ghost's coming out of it, to aliens that helped build pyramids. So the plot could have used a little tweaking, but overall, not a bad movie.

Bad Adam, no, no
15 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I have liked Adam before SNL, and still do. But this movie is without a doubt, the worst Adam Sandler flic yet. Within 5 mins. I could tell it was going to be one of those, self-indulgent, ego trip, pointless movies. Adam of course has his friends in this one as well, like Rob Schneider, whom without Adam has no career to speak of anymore. The only funny parts of the movies are thanks to others like Alec Mapa, and the old ladies. The terrible accents made me want to rip my ears off. And what is with the crotch stuffing? Cameo's of has-been actors are to many to count, the 80's music AGAIN, and Adams group of unfunny tag-along friends. Just Boring! Wanna be Austin Powers, wanna be Superman, wanna be Funny. Come on Adam, we all know you can do better than this.

What the...?
14 October 2008
I have seen some pretty bad movies, and this is right up there. No plot to speak of, it's like one of those bad coma episodes on a soap-opera. I just wanted to smack that little girl because, well lets just say, she's real suspicious all the way through the movie. The monsters running around wearing some bling was funny. I also saw a bit of "Silent Hill" in there. And I read that this was done by, and or stared a Finnish metal band, Lordi. So it's no wonder that it didn't make much sense. It seem to be a vehicle for promoting there band and nothing more. The FX are very good, the look of the movie, the monsters, and even the acting also good. But the story and the telling of it, just aren't there.

I want my money back
7 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
If it is bad this movie has it. Bad writing, bad acting, bad editing, bad CG... There are a couple of funny bit's (like the Dwarf with the foot long willy), and some good gore FX, but not enough to save this (should have been aborted) film. Lot's of pointless filler to make the movie longer, the story is all over the place, looking more like a film student project. Hard to believe the same writers, and director who brought us the original Feast (great movie) turned out this less than worthy sequel. It must have been slapped together over the weekend. Also hard to believe that Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean) would be in this thing after proving to be a good actor. And what is with all the penises and jizz, somebody has a fetish if you ask me. But if you like 80's B style low budget gore movies, then by all means, rent this puppy. But don't be surprised if you too end up saying "I want my money back".
