Nightingales (1990)
Great fun
One of the best written and surreal sitcoms ever broadcast. it was consistently funny. and never boring, The setup is about a team of security guards on night shift, bored out of their minds in a typical office block. The cast are superb, and each suited actor was suited to their character, (even the gorilla and the dead guy!!) very few people watched it on its broadcast on channel 4. I think it has a bit of a cult following. Keep an eye out for the DVDs, they are getting harder and harder to find. Even if you haven't seen it before, take a risk buying it, you won't regret it. Robert Lindsay career was on a bit of a downward spiral, he chose well in this sitcom, certainly beats that pile of trash sitcom "My Family" he stars in now.
Robbie Coltrane: B-Road Britain (2007)
Robbie Coltrane indulges his passion
Robbie drives from London to Glasgow in a classic Jaguar car. Using B-roads. Travelling through the roads that where there before motorways were built. He comes across the strange customs and bizarre things that the villages and small towns get up to. Such as cheese chasing...:) Its basically Robbie, indulging his love for classic cars and travel. And getting paid for it. Its a very good show and an irreverent look at Britain. It good to see Robbie doing something different, and he is a very good host. He puts up with the customs with good humour, and even has a go at a few of them himself. He seems to genuinely enjoy meeting the people. His favourite moment when he gets to conduct a brass band. A job he did very well and the look of joy on his face is tremendous. And Hagrid is not mentioned anywhere on the entire show.
