Justiça: Episode #2.28 (2024)
Mild Soap Opera Ending
It's disappointing when a series with so much potential falters at the finish line. It sounds like the lack of emotional depth in the final episode detracted from what was otherwise a captivating series. It's understandable to feel let down when a show doesn't stick the landing, especially after investing time and emotion into it. The culmination of a series should ideally leave viewers with a lasting impression, but when it feels reminiscent of a soap opera's melodramatic twists, it can cheapen the overall experience. Perhaps the writers could have explored more nuanced resolutions or stayed true to the emotional depth established throughout the series.
Todo Dia a Mesma Noite (2023)
Wasn't expecting to be so good. Binged on it and finish it in one afternoon.
For me this is hands down that best Brazilian series ever made. The Kiss Night Club fire was the second largest tragedy of this kind to ever take place in Brazil with 242 death and over 600 seriously wounded. Today, at its 10th anniversary, Brazilian families and society are still waiting for a fair trial.
Speaking about this production, quite frankly I wasn't expecting much, but boy oh boy the writing, production, dialogs, and actors put on an amazing and touching performances that will make you feel like you were there.
Things move very slowly in the Brazilian justice system, and to be honest I was already forgetting about the whole thing. Anyway, I truly recommend everyone watch this. You will not regret it.
Medida Provisória (2020)
Just a terrible experience. Waste of time.
"I know what you're thinking ... 'this guy probably hated this film because of his political views". Well Consider this, what I would say in terms of this movie, if you were on a plane, and you had only this film available to watch, you might just enjoy spend your time looking at a empty air sickness bag, than spend one hour and a half watching this piece of ragged thriller.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Please rewrite Miranda's
Miranda is annoying as hell. Everytime she comes up I feel like skipping forward. She is not doing a good job of acting, specially the part in class when she meets her teacher. Gosh! So annoying!
I Care a Lot (2020)
The first half of the Movie was good but then it fell apart.
I liked the beginning of the movie up until the last 1/4. This movie had the potential to be a great scammers movie but the ending was a bit silly and shallow. In real life criminals who kill often, like people in the drug trading world and the mafia would never fail to execute their targets, much less both targets. They failed to killed both scammers? Come on! I liked the idea of the guy killing Rosamund Pike in the end but the idea of all 3 of them going into business together is stretching. Drug lords and mafia people are ruthless. They don't play around, specially with the women who almost killed them or embarrassed them. Anyway, the movie is not terrible and deserve at least 5 to 6 stars. It's watchable and better than most movies made for Netflix. If the ratings were about Netflix only movies this would get 7 to 8 stars.
The I-Land (2019)
Weak minded people are rating the show poorly
Some reviewers are rating this and other new Netflix shows poorly because NF canceled their favorite shows. While some of the canceled shows might be better than this one, you shouldn't destroy people's work because of that. Anyway, the show is fine. I liked it and have recommended to my friends who also enjoyed it.
The Open House (2018)
This is it for me with Netflix. Canceling.
This is simply the dumbest movie ever written. Is it a film school project or something like that? Typical Netflix bs just to fill their library. Quantity over quality.
The Walking Dead: Wrath (2018)
Pure Virtue Signaling
Rick is the most boring leading character ever created. So cliché and filled with Virtue Signaling.
Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009)
Please stop with the romantic comedies!!! The Formula has been lost forever!
I don't know exactly where about in time "the cinema people" has lost the formula to make a decent romantic comedy.. just decent would do for me.. The last few years is one more boring, bizarre, pointless than the other.
"FOR THE REVIEWERS WHO LIKED THE MOVIE" Please be specific when you say that this movie is funny .. can you point out one single funny moment in this tedious film? unless you are the kind of people who always laugh at the same clichés and jokes i'm sure you cant! I don't even wanna go into the issue of SJP and HG acting or chemistry. Specially Sarah J.P... she was so freaking annoying!! Im a big fan of both actors but what just happened here folks?? Jeez!
District 9 (2009)
1.000.000 Times better than Avatar
This movie could have won the Oscar considering the favorites were Avatar and Hurt Locker. In my opinion both did not deserve to even be nominated actually. Maybe after you watch District 9 you will think that even District 9 is not good enough to win the Best Movie Award but at least it deserved to be amongst the nominees, and it would not be an unfair Award to this Fantastic Film as it was to Hurt Locker or Avatar, if it had won.
What I like the most about the film is that it increasingly gains momentum throughout, starting out as a weird documentary, but then evolves into more mainstream thriller territory, before culminating in some thoroughly entertaining action set pieces.
If you were hoping for a lot of Human vs Alien action, wait for the second half where you will see just enough for the movie not to become a War of the Worlds crap.
I wish I had seen this movie before the Oscars because I would definitely be cheering for it!
