Count Arthur Strong (2013)
One of the best !
This is, by far, the best comedy shows I've seen for donkey's years! The scripts are co-written by the creator Steve Delaney and the magnificent director Graham Linehan. Comedy writing just doesn't get any better than this!
All of the actors are fabulous. The duo of Michael (Rory Kinnear) and Arthur (Steve Delaney) is excellent.
I just can't say enough positive things about the character of Count Arthur Strong and every aspects of this show. Just don't miss it, if you value laughter!
Cons: Absolutely nothing! It's as simple as that.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
A senseless, choreographed violence fest !
This is just a mindless roller-coaster ride of choreographed, senseless violence and stupidity! All the fight sequences are mind-blowingly impossible and could never happen in the real world.
The film is such an affront to a thinking persons faculties that it just melts into a shallow lake of insanity and utter madness.
I guess this might be an interesting ride for someone high on hallucinogenic drugs. I, however, was totally sober so it just made me nauseous and anxious. But I know there are many people who love these kind of films, but I just can't understand why!
Caught (2017)
Pointless drivel! Story totally unresolved, in the end.
This is such a pointless film. The story has no message; doesn't give any answers about anything and the only thing it adds to the viewers experience is a loathsome, dark feeling of sadness and a lingering depressive state of mind. It isn't even that scary, just gory make-up and unnecessary dialogue about nothing... the story isn't even resolved in the end.
When the end titles start to roll the viewer has no answers about anything relating the the story that is being attempted to be told by the writers, director and actors. I was just left with a bad taste in my mouth about this mess of a film.
The acting is OK, I suppose, but this film had better never been made. Bad script and utterly ridiculous story.
All Round to Mrs. Brown's (2017)
Just dreadful !
I gave up about half way through the first episode. It simply isn't funny, the script was bad and the material just not interesting.
The involvement of celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, in episode #1, is just stupid and boring. Involving individuals from the audience is a bad idea and makes this show annoying and unwatchable. Selecting the "Mother of the week" from the audience and giving her some prices... I just cringed when watching the sorry excuse for a show!
The concept for this show should have been thrown in the rubbish-basket before launching it. What were the creators thinking?
Swiss Army Man (2016)
BS On Steroids!
If someone told me the author of this story was a frequent user of LSD or other psychedelic and/or psychotropic substances, I would believe it. This is just utter nonsense and the story doesn't have any deep meaning to it, IMHO. It's just drivel and a waste of time, money and energy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being prudish since the farting etc. didn't offend me, per se. The story is just so unbelievably pointless!
I watched the whole thing (why, I ask myself?). The acting was quite good and even excellent at times, but wasted on a BS storyline.
When I read some of the great reviews this movie is getting, I wonder if it is a sign of the dumbing down of society? How can this be considered an excellent movie by so many viewers? I wonder...
Stranger Things (2016)
Weak rehash of old material
I was full of hope when I watched the pilot for this highly rated and very popular series. After the pilot I was bewildered as to why the vast number of viewers have given this wishy-washy show such outrageously high ratings! There is nothing new being done here and the quality is mediocre, IMHO!
But I decided to watch another episode, just in case the material got better. I, however, gave up towards the end of it. I found it so boring and basically just annoying. This series hardly deserves even one star; it's dreadful!
I found the acting to be mostly mediocre, as well as the material. Winona Ryder is overplaying her role with too much hysteria. Other actors are just so so...
Burzynski: Cancer Is Serious Business (2010)
A must see for everyone !
This documentary is very well done. It contains no sensationalism or hype at all. It is a testament to the blatant corruption and criminality of the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry who have for years on end waged war against Stanislaw R. Burzynski, M.D., Ph.D. This respected doctor has with amazing results bin able to cure most types of cancer for decades now.
The FDA, with the backing of the drug companies, has basically tried almost everything, short of having Dr. Burzynski killed, to hinder him from practicing medicine. And why? It's because his successes in curing cancer, without any side effects at all, will result in dwindling money flow and less power to the drug industry.
This great documentary; a very important piece of investigative journalism, should be seen by everyone! It shows, once again, how criminality in big business works against the people of this world. The power structures, on our planet, are mostly criminal in nature and don't care for people at all. Evidence shows that they only care for power and money.
I give this documentary the 10 it deserves. It should be seen by everyone who cares about the truth!
The Dark Side of Chocolate (2010)
The modern slavery of children - Heartbreaking !
This documentary is very important and obviously done by brave people. People who care enough to tackle this extremely heartbreaking issue; the trafficking of children in the African cocoa industry.
It is heartbreaking and beyond belief to realize that the value of a human life, a child's life to be exact in this case, is considered so low that it can be bought and sold for a few euros to fulfill the wants and longings of the western world for cheap chocolate, garments, sex etc... This film is about the chocolate industry but every westerner should know that trafficking of children is a fact in many other businesses as well. How come that we who live in the west don't rise up to this travesty? Why are we constantly closing our eyes in complacency to this bitter ugliness in human nature? I am so sad after watching this excellent film that my heart hurts...
Please watch this film, if you get the chance, and recommend it to your friends and family!!!
