Giving It 2 Stars Is Being Generous...
This movie as you probably already know without even having to rent / buy it, was made on a very tight and low budget. The movie looks as if it were filmed on a inexpensive home video-recorder. The sound is awful, as if they had no mic attachments, they were merely going off the echoes of the walls? The story wasn't completely original, nor entertaining enough to keep my interest. After about 20 minutes, I removed the film from my player. Am I fan of Katt Williams? Yes! A very dedicated fan, which is why I initially decided to watch this flick... so it isn't a bias remark, the film was just awful. There was no humor at all, not because the movie hadn't started to get into the humorous parts, but because the humorous parts had already failed up to the point of me turning it off.
Katt Williams is a phenomenal stand-up comedian without a doubt, but does that make him an awful actor? No. Many people think just because somebody is a artist, stand-up, athlete, etc. that they can't act. I believe Katt has a load of potential to be a well accomplished comedian actor. Although, if he continues to accept roles such as the one he did in this film, he won't get the attention deserved. Films like this will do no actor any justice, whether your Katt Williams, Dane Cook, or even Will Smith. It's simply a role that nobody could fill in and make the movie, an enjoyable movie. In this case, it comes down to the story, director, and budget, when all three fail... so will the star actor. I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone, whether you enjoy the Katt's work, or you enjoy comedies, because in my own personal opinion, this doesn't fill either spot.

Seven Pounds (2008)
Official "SEVEN POUNDS" Review
This movie did not get the attention of previous Will Smith movies. Not because it was not good, but it simply had... poor advertisement in my own opinion. The movie starts out with a hook and keeps you reeling in for the answers the entire movie. I would not say this movie is boring at the least, but not completely entertaining either. It is although very confusing throughout and really, until the last 20 minutes or so, you probably won't know what the ultimate goal is for Smith's character. Which I believe is a good thing, as most movies produced today are typical, cliché', and rather simple to predict. The writer did an excellent job executing the possibility of predicting the final outcome of the story. Keeping the audience guessing and theorizing until it finally starts to unfold.
Harrelson's character which has a minor role in this film, in which I wish it was more, is known as Ezra. The exchange Harrelson and Smith have in the opening scenes of this movie, are so emotionally acted out, that it almost brings you to tears before the opening credits even end. I think the movie had an excellent cast, excellent story, and excellent acting. I would recommend this movie to friends, but watch out, it isn't for anyone. I couldn't see many teens enjoying this film, because it is very slow-paced, but at the same time, like mentioned above, in an entertaining manner. Most teens only want to see action, or gore... so watch out who you recommend this film to. It will have you in tears by the time the credits roll and the curtains are drawn.

My Best Friend's Girl (2008)
Official "My Best Friends Girl" Review
Was this the best comedy of 2008? Was this the best comedy Dane Cook has starred in? Or even Jason Biggs, Kate Hudson possibly? No. No. No... and no. The likes of "American Pie", "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" and "Waiting"... OK I guess I couldn't say "Waiting" being more of a Reynold's flick, but even "Employee Of The Month" truly were far more superior flicks then this movie. Was it awful? No. Predictable? Yes. As most comedies are today, predictable that is... this movie in my opinion falls short of funny.
Does it have funny moments? Sure, of course, why wouldn't it!? But a few laughs isn't enough to be considered a "Great Comedy" just a good one. I would say my favorite part of this movie was Cook's character walking down the alter playing Johnny Cash as he flicks his cigarette to the side. I also liked how they used the 10-count system for all his "Rude" tactics. But I'm sorry, as much as I like Cook's stand-up comedy, even acting, I don't think he or anyone for that matter could have done this movie any justice. It was just another comedy, and really, I'm sick of "Just another comedy." Thank god for "Knocked up, Superbad, Zack And Miri, 40 Yr Old Virgin, and Pineapple Express!" Those, standout, those are the new age of comedy. You want a laugh, watch those, then re-watch those, then watch em again. You'll produce more laughs from those movies in repeat viewings as you would this one.
Sadly, not even the Farrelly brothers can produce quality, not since "There's Something About Mary" and it's really pathetic. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that the companies are lowering the ratings to PG-13 for sales ruining these directors/writers, or just the directos/writers themselves? Bottom line, if you want a good comedy to watch and get a few laughs with your girlfriend, go rent this flick, but, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
