Fumoon (1980)
Beautiful!
I finally got to watch this animated classic from the 1980s. It was fantastic, extraordinary, wonderful, and very artistic. I just love how the film worked. The story about the discovery of the new human beings, Fummoon, is great. Various characters, many from different series and that "Star System" by Tezuka, played great roles. Duke Red was great as Colonel Lednof, a possible Soviet based figure from a different fictional nation. Detective Mustache was very interesting like always due to being in works like Metropolis (2001 movie) and Undersea Super Train: Marine Express (1979), which IMDb.com forgot to add to its system. And the main Fumoon, Rococo, is one of the most beautiful and creative characters by Tezuka. She was a major star in this. She made the film very interesting. This movie deals with war, peace, nature (mostly while not forcible), beauty, humanity, and faith. This is a great recommendation for anyone who likes animation films that are very well made and very good with its messages. This is a great GREAT film. If you do not get to see this, that is fine. To me, this film really helped me enjoy what it had. Even if it's old, it had a lot of style.
10/10
Shin kaitei gunkan (1995)
Awesome and a fun movie.
I was able to see this today for the first time and I enjoyed it. This is a fun and great treat for those who like action packed anime involving giant battle ships and technological power. The story was good while at times OK with pace. The giant ship Ra (Super Atragon) was amazing to see. The characters were good including Go (silly for a main character to have but nice), Annete, the captain, and Avatar. The climax was very good, and I liked how the crew of Ra was able to take on Avatar's deadly weaponry and ships while her plan of world destruction was nigh. I will watch this film again and embrace how much fun it was. It was over the top and it had a very interesting take to it. I found out it is a remake of Atragon, made in the 1960s. As a remake, it looked better and it did not disappoint me at all. Great film and splendid achievement.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The worst Batman movie ever, and the laziest film finale!
Some spoilers are added! Be for warn.
I hated this film as a Batman movie while liking some parts, and being okay with it as a Nolan film. This is a terrible excuse for a comic book film because it has no feel of it. It feels like the main characters added were destroyed and bastardized by assholes who think they knew what they were doing. The movie felt like a war-crime film with no regards for imagination and better improvement.
Bane - The worst interpretation ever. While looking Caucasian, the villain from comics is Latino (the cartoons changed his appearances too). The director, being the racist/sexist he has been in front of your blank faces, had the nerve of ignoring Bane's real character and changing him into a eastern bound terrorist villain only. That is wrong.
Bane is of the west, not of the east. Less imagination and justice to Bane. Thanks to this lazy director, we got another Caucasian Bane on purpose, proving it is hard to manage a character of a minority right. Bane, unlike Perry White and Heimdall (who are changed in live action through appearance instead of character), is freaking race specific, not mutual.
Also, I felt sorry for this character not being able to be more brutal. He felt limited. How he was damaged in this film was poorly made. I thought he suffered a more painful injury. He also looked like Jinzo from Yugioh and a Mortal Kombat villain. His voice was not well/it felt forced due to the stupid rip off headgear.
Catwoman - This version was terrible, but Anne was very good with her participation. Anne's character lacks the cat qualities of suit and character treatment. No whip or claws. Just stupid bladed high-heels. How stupid id this? This is degradation, not change.
Catwoman also uses guns and she kills with them. This is wrong. Catwoman has been turned into a killer. She never kills unless in dire moments. Thanks to the lazy and now poor DC Comics company, she uses guns more and she kills constantly. I also hated how she killed Bane. Very anti-climatic.
Batman - The worst interpretation ever. His voice sounds like Eddie Valiant (Roger Rabbit character) suffering injuries while speaking and Howl's demon voice from Howl's Moving Castle. THAT IS NOT how Batman sounds like. He feels less of Batman too. Batman is suppose to be a detective vigilante with MANY skills, not some weak ninja spy jerk who does less minding of his surroundings (thank you Liam Neeson). He is a disgrace to superheroes and his 8 year absence was all for nothing. Bale was weak with portraying this character.
While I still like Anne Hathaway, Hans Zimmer's great music, the plane scene, the climbing moment with Bruce Wayne, and the motorcycle-tunnel chase sequence, I feel so bad about the lies we are given. Good thing I quit liking DC Comics now. I can still like Young Justice, which is better. In Young Justice, Bane finally got justice and his home was shown. Nolan is the worst and he cheated you people so easily. Those who go against me and others who care more about what is right don't deserve this, and the past two fake-dull-Batman films. They are sloppy and not improving.
5/10 as a Nolan film. 1/10 as the worst Batman film.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
This is how Transformers DOTM could have been if more improved.
This has some spoilers of my own making. This is not from real film.
Intro is fantastic and it fits. In Russia, after NEST finds a strange device, Optimus Prime battles Shockwave and the Driller; Shcockwave almost kills Optimus and flees. Sam and Carly have a more balanced relationship and they are accompanied by Brains and Wheelie more (both are not too dumb and annoying at all). Sam gets his job and the office segment of the film is not crappy like it is in real film. Sam meets Dylan and Carly like in real film. Optimus and Ratchet find Sentinel and Optimus later resurrects him with Matrix of Leadership. Megatron comes in with no stupid green small character and he informs his followers to get rid of their human comrades. Megatron still has his hatch-lings, who soon grow and become enhanced by Shockwave during Chicago fortification.
There are not stupid moments, stereotypes, and random comedy bits in this version except the President Obama part. Sam is more improved including the whole cast. Ken Jeong is brutally killed by Laserbeak including the family in the real film in a bloody mess. No stupid scene with Sam's car caught by guards and Sam acting like a dimwit. Bumblebee talks normally this time with no radio-voice (ENOUGH with the radio voice).
After Russian club meeting with Simmons and Dutch involved, the chase scene has the Driller and Dread robots going after Sentinel; Driller faces Mirage while Ironhide and Sideswipe have a long and better battle with last two Dreads (other Dread is killed by Mirage). Simmons and Dutch are injured badly and they are saved by NEST. Sentinel, who is inside the secret base for the heroes betrays his comrades and gets his pillars; Driller and Shockwave help stop Autobots/NEST soldiers from going after him before leaving. Later, Sam and parents meet and have a discussion about love; Megatron allows Starscream to prevent Optimus from stopping Sentinel from bringing a large army of Decepticons to Earth; Sentinel halts Optimus while Autobots go out and battle the large army of Decepticons. Afterward, Optimus and Autobots retreat from the big battle including the NEST soldiers, who were losing.
Sam confronts a traitorous Dylan like in real movie and Carly gets kidnapped by Laserbeak and Soundwave (Dylan's partners). Dylan does the same thing to Sam like in real movie and wants him to ask Optimus Prime about a plan to take down Sentinel and his alliance. Soon, the government woman, who is more improved and not annoying, takes Sam to see Epps and the Wreckers at the rocket area. Soon, after Dylan allowed Starscream to destroy the rocket with exiling Autobots inside, he allows Shockwave, Megatron, and many Decepticons to fortify Chicago like in real movie.
Soon, during the huge battle in Chicago, robots have more involvement and they help NEST take on Dylan's tough human group and the Decepticons. The whole conflict is overnight and the main characters try to survive. Megatron, who easily injures Optimus while up high, wants to be the one in charge; however, Sentinel, who plotted to trick Megatron, allows Starscream to knock him off of the building they are on with pillars; Shockwave and Starscream are given control over Decepticons by Sentinel Prime as a humiliated and hurt Megatron flees from his own group who now reject him.
Later, instead of transporting Cybertron (which was a dumb idea), a new and gigantic device with small remaining Allspark energy gets transported by the pillars so it can combine with the master pillar to turn Earth into a new Cybertron. During the end of the big fight, NEST (with the wingmen), Silverbolt (who was in disguise as a Decepticon), and the Autobots take down their enemies (Dylan's human large human force and Decepticons alike) and later allow Optimus to fight Sentinel.
This time, Carly saves Sam from Dylan and kills him with one of Q's weapons. Bumblebee battles Soundwave long while nearby Dylan and Sam. Wreckers are the ones to do a lot more damage while following Optimus to destroy many Decepticons on the street (better than that single destructive assault of Optimus in real movie).
The heroes and a changed Megatron (who has been supported by Sam and Carly) prevent the larger machine from entering Earth and disable the master pillar. Shockwave, who loses his Driller to Bumblebee and Optimus, activates a secret device to control the remaining Decepticons against the heroes; Shockwave kills a damaged Sentinel (who gets beaten by Megatron) in front of his enemies; he fights Optimus, who teams up with Megatron to give him a chance to free the remaining Decepticons from Shockwave's control.
Shockwave gets his face slashed, but remains strong with the help of radar sensors he built for himself. The blinded Shockwave overpowers Optimus and destroys his other arm (his right arm is detached like in real film) with his gun. Megatron saves Optimus again and allows him to stomp Shockwave's head.
After the huge battle, Megatron and his forces leave their path of violence and move to Cybertron with Optimus' help. All of the heroes rejoice and separate. Frenzy, who somehow has been revived, parties at Dylan's penthouse. The End.
Major Casualties: Dylan (killed by Carly with one of Q's tools which blows him up); Starscream (damaged by Wreckers and NEST soldiers before one bomb weapon Sam placed in one of his eyes blows him up); Laserbeak, same way like in regular film; Ironhide, same way but inside NEST base; Shockwave (real main villain) (gets his head stomped); Sentinel Prime (killed by Shockwave after Megatron ripped him apart); Major Lennox (Shockwave's cannon form destroys him); Silverbolt (Driller eats him); Q, same way; Driller, killed by Bumblebee and Optimus after Megatron damages it with right cannon arm; Jerry Wang, slashed and blasted to death by Laserbeak, Wheelie and Brains (same way), and Soundwave (blasted and killed differently by Bumblebee).
