Leave the World Behind (2023)
Bad directing, bad production, bad movie
My wife and started watching, "A Boy Called Christmas" and after an hour, we had to stop because it was terrible. Then we tried this one and it's worse.
The method of filming is irritating, the music is annoying, and the entire movie has your mind wandering.
They're trying very hard to make it about "systemic racism" and "victimhood" while trying to make it suspenseful but it's not.
It seems that the story in the hands of better producers and and a better director could have made it into a decent feature but the way it's done, it leaves the audience wondering and disappointed.
This is another example of lack of talent and creativity in modern Hollywood.
The G Word with Adam Conover (2022)
Where are the fact checkers?
This series is a propaganda tool of misinformation and bogus claims. I know why the ratings were so low. No one is interested in more Washington lies. Since hardly anyone watched it, I don't have to say, "Don't waste your time", because most people didn't.
If you're interested in what the government actually does. Do your own research. Read some bills to learn what actually happens in Washington. Have you ever wondered why Washington never solves problems? If they solved problems, the department or program would be closed which rarely happens. It's always more money, we need more money. By the way, this is the same problem most third world countries have as well. People in power keep those lagging needing their services. They create demand for themselves.
Bros (2022)
SUCKS
I was really wanting to support this rom com and I had high expectations because of believing some of the hype I'd read. Even though I laughed a few times, it was a waste of my life to watch this movie. I'd warn others that you'll be disappointed and walk away unfulfilled and perhaps angry having wasted time and money on this boring attempt at "entertainment".
Billy Eichner's character is a monotone loud obnoxious bore. Apparently his writing skills fall in line with his character, uninteresting.
If you want people to watch your movie and better yet, enjoy your movie, create and develop interesting storylines with interesting characters, not diatribes.
The Iceman (2012)
Dramatic Licensing
The movie portrays him as a loving family man but his wife's biography provides a different version. He apparently broke her nose a few times during a couple of the many beatings he inflected on her and he even told his children that if he ever killed their mother, he would have to kill them too.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
It's a must NOT see!!!
Arguably, the worst movie ever but definitely the worst superhero movie ever. Terrible script, terrible acting, and terrible direction which equates to a poorly produced movie.
News from Home (1976)
Different
I found myself watching this "documentary" even though it's footage of New York in the 70s as if driving around in an automobile looking out the car window and riding the subway.
If you've ever watch one of those YouTube videos of 1910s New York, 1930s San Francisco, or 1940s Hollywood, this film is similar except the writer/director includes reading letters from her mother back home in Brussels.
Somehow, this movie documentary is culturally significant. Perhaps, it to illustrate the lack of creativity similar to a Robert Ryman painting.
I'd love to know how much this film cost to produce. I'd guess less than $1,000.00
I'm surprised TCM aired it. Perhaps it was to bolster ratings for the movie that followed its airing, which was "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" which seems like "Citizen Kane" in comparison.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Glad it's over but weak writing
Most of these series that are so popular have weak writing so why I watch them is a mystery. I suspect it's never easy to have an ending to satisfies everyone.
Go ahead and watch these final episodes and get it over with but don't expect to feel satisfied with the ending. My wife speculates that they left room for a return if they chose since Netflix is in such bad shape right now.
Ozark: Sanctified (2022)
Another uncreative soap opera
We keep watching these shows to be entertained but the scripts are poorly written which makes them predictable and unrealistic which is frustrating as a viewer.
We've binge watched several of these types of series and they're mostly bad with some like "Squid Games" being ridiculously stupid.
I'll not commit to any more television series.
Downton Abbey (2010)
Poor writing, a common issue in the 21st century
I assume because there are so many characters, it's difficult to create story lines for all of them in an hour episode. So the writers create obvious storylines without much mystery for the viewer. At first, I thought I was being bright for "guessing" everything that was about to happen but any idiot (other than myself) can figure it out.
Also, someone else wrote it but I agree that Elizabeth McGovern can't act and after a season or two, her character becomes annoying to watch. My wife does a great imitation of her head movement.
The only really bright moments in the series are with Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton. They're the best actors and have the most entertaining dialogue.
Thankfully this show was produced from 2010-2015 because it wants to be politically correct which would is incorrect for the time period. If it were produced in 2022, it would be so far removed from reality, it would not stand on its own like most current "entertainment".
I'm not sure why we watched it. Even my wife said, "I can't stand it anymore. Let's find something else to watch" and we even watched "Squid Game" which sucked too.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Not Entertaining!!!
Hollywood is full of idiots and the producers and writers of this series are some of them.
"Most people don't really want the truth. They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth."
Get woke, go broke!!!
Don't Look Up (2021)
Bigger liar, Hollywood or Washington DC?
I don't believe or trust anything out of Hollywood, politicians, or the media. They are are virtue signaling, self promoting, thieves and this is another example of fear mongering from millionaires who encompass these industries.
Lots of big name stars who want to tell me how to live while they spend more on wine a month than my monthly mortgage. They consume more fossil fuels in a weekend than most Americans do in a lifetime.
Good acting - poor script.
Pig (2021)
SURPRISED
I'm surprised that anyone would fund this movie. I want those 2 hours of my life back. The story is terrible. People should get a life and stop believing everything they see from Hollywood. The explanation of what happens to the pig is absolutely ridiculous.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Wasn't it obvious to everyone?
This movie is overrated. I finally watched it in late 2021 and was disappointed because it was obvious he was dead and a ghost. He only interacted with the kid.
Old (2021)
Under-delivered
This movie has potential to be a decent film but it woefully under delivers. I don't know if it's the editing but the movie is missing something it needs. Maybe there was a budget deficit because the casting is weak. Parts of the movie were hilarious. When the kids are walking down the beach and she's pregnant, it's funny but when asked, "What have you two been doing" and they respond, "playing", I laughed my ass off. Also, the "crab lady" scene in the cave was so ridiculous that we laughed hysterically.
The Daily Show (1996)
Relevant???
Is this debacle still being aired?
With ratings so low, I'm amazed that Comedy Central has kept it on the air. Since Trevor took the reins, the show has been flat and boring. It's unfortunate.
Above Suspicion (2019)
Compelling story poorly presented
The story is interesting because of the law enforcement (FBI Agent) criminal aspect but the some parts of the movie didn't seem feasible. I kept saying, "That's not realistic" so I would remind myself that it was a movie and movies are made by people in fairyland without a sense of reality.
None of the characters are likable so I found myself not wanting any of them to succeed. Their southern accents are incomprehensible and often times their accents are nonexistent.
The movie did a decent job of portraying the local characters "white trashiness" but overall, it's an average movie at best. It's not a movie that you'd want to watch twice unless you're in it.
Them! (1954)
Fear sells
"What we will find in the future, no one knows" More Hollywood elitist propaganda
How this movie was successful at the box office is somewhat of a mystery to me other than fear sells ticket. My, how things have not changed.
Bridgerton (2020)
It's a "0"
It's no wonder television and feature films are losing audiences. They're producing junk like this show. I watched one episode, which was very difficult, and couldn't bare to watch another episode. I'd like that hour of my life returned but it won't happen so I'll use this experience as a life lesson in poor decision making by me.
Hold Back the Dawn (1941)
Hollywood with their agendas
Well written with superb acting yet typical Hollywood with their "virtue signaling" agendas.
Peyton Place (1957)
Dr. McSwain's testimony Is typical Hollywood propaganda
The doctor's testimony didn't support the defense, it promoted typical Hollywood virtue signaling B. S.
The Twilight Zone: The Man in the Bottle (1960)
The US government stealing as usual
In this episode, the main character wishes for a million dollars in cash. After he gives a great deal of his money to his neighbors as an act of generosity, the IRS shows up and provides him a tax bill of $942,000. Thieves.
Citizen Kane (1941)
Overrated
Apparently my expectations were too high but I was very disappointed in "Citizen Kane". I had heard the hype for years and was savoring the moment of watching the "greatest film in cinema history".
I love movies from the silent era through the late 40s and there is the occasional 50s and 60s movies that I enjoy as well. Perhaps it's the movie stars that attract me to those movies. However, "Citizen Kane" didn't fulfill my expectations and I was disappointed in the story and especially the ending.
