Watch this movie with an open mind
18 September 2022
I would not thought that this movie would give me goosebumps from the introduction alone.

I do not know why so many people would want to boycott this movie and being judgmental in the first place. Just watch this movie with an open mind first before giving some critique.

Some of my criticism would be a bit of work on screenplay, and fast pace of the story (if this movie would be on R-rated status, then this movie would be more predictable).

I do like the action sequences of the movie as doing it with me a big machete is a no joke.

Overall, I do like this movie and it deserves an Oscar for me.

Pleasantly Confused In A Right Way
13 April 2019
I would have to say is that I do really like the movie as it makes me feel like I have to hold the chair and the table for some bits of the plot from the book as it left me with a cliffhanger.

I also read all the books and I have to say it definitely got the bits of the scenes from the book and made it refreshing at the same time. Although some of the characters that I wanted needs a push as I like them from the books. Though the only critic that I had was the movie needs to clean up a bit in editing so it does not look too choppy when it was watched as a whole movie.

Overall, the movie is pleasantly confused in a good way as it is refreshing and not too tiring to watch all over again. (I had to borrow the line of "pleasantly confused" from NeYo of World Of Dance)

Utter Disaster!
6 November 2018
I watched the first episode and I could not continue watching it as it was sick to my stomach to watch it. Wish The CW did not reboot this series as the original Charmed series was way better than the reboot.

So sorry but please cancel this series once and for all.

There's more than meets the eye for this Series
1 October 2017
When I heard about the new spin-off series "Inhumans", I thought that this would be a good show to look at. But then when I read the reviews, everything changed.

And then when the pilot episode showed, it was okay for me, consider that there's something missing when it comes to story plot and the acting of the characters too. Except of course to Iwan Rheon's character who did an amazing job there as Maximus that made me miss Ramsay Bolton of Game of Thrones. Yet I am glad that there's a lot of Easter eggs planted to every scene of the pilot episode especially if you are indeed a fan of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and you could recall the scenes there.

Anyway, there is more than meets the eye on this series and it is just a pilot that is testing the water. And I have to wait and see if it would surpass my expectations again for the succeeding episodes. So better give it a chance to work it out for this series. You never know what's in store there.

That's Something New for "You Know Nothing, Jon Snow"
21 February 2017
Well I am not just there for the new series, I am also just there for the lovely Rose Leslie.

From the redhead wild-ling to a feisty lawyer, I must have to say that she definitely improved her acting and widening her marketability to the next level.

I am loving the series because it is very fresh and with some good wit of the story that makes wanting more. More clues, more mystery, and more Rose Leslie's character to evolve.

I rated 9/10 because of some reasons: 1. New plot, new characters. 2. Fair diversity of the characters. 3. Almost related to the real-life situations. 4. Rose Leslie's Scottish accent is bit there though, despite of her almost perfect American accent.

Overall, I like the series and I would want more of it. Never mind of the accent though.

Warcraft (2016)

Brilliantly Executed and Totally Surpassed My Expectations
31 May 2016
I am a Warcraft fan ever since I was about 14 years old and old habits die hard to the game until now. Ever since I heard about Warcraft that it would be made into a movie, I was very excited to see it.

When I heard that it would be delayed for a couple of years, it made me sad. So I have to wait and wait until such time that I am very excited from the announcement of Blizzard that they finalized the release date.

And then when I saw the movie, I was amazed that the release date delays were paid off. I like the visual effects that they delivered from the characters down to the places that I could recall the places that they mentioned from the game. Glad that I can relate to the story from the game itself, which is by far hints the story plots from the game. Still I'm pretty stoked on the visual effects and I could not get enough of it.

It did surpassed my expectations and I am not disappointed at all. And as a gamer, I would rather see this movie all over again. Kudos to Blizzard and Universal Pictures YOU'RE THE BEST!

The Royals (2015–2018)

Unusual take for a fictional modern Royal Family drama
18 March 2015
When the first time I heard about The Royals, I was thinking of the Tudor-type drama but it turned out to be a modern day Royal Family arrangement, with significant relations that we knew today.

I was very intrigued on the TV Trailers and to know more on the main characters in general perspective. Likely they put it more in twist so that it would not look like the real Royal Family. So when I first watched the pilot episode, there are so many twist and turns that the mystery would be unfold for the later episodes. And in the end you will want more of it.

I was admired on Elizabeth Hurley's portrayal of Queen Helena - something that I never saw her like that on TV. And also London playing the character city in order to embrace the essence of the story.

I would give this TV series a chance to show it what it made of, and to prove that it is not cheesy enough to watch it in the first place.

A Mixture of "Okay" and "Not Okay"
16 February 2015
I was very excited when I first saw the trailer until I tried to read the books. So when I read the books and I expect that it would be more racy in the movie. But when I saw the movie, it turns out that it is kind of "there".

Curiosity really played me well when I first read the book until I read it several times. E.L. James did put the thought on the books that would delight the readers. It's pretty erotic but the thought of the story comes to one thing - love.

Then when the trailers and TV Spots showed up, I just knew that it would be the mixture of the book and the director's vision. Until I watched the movie for the first time, it was just as I predicted. Sam Taylor-Johnson did bravely direct this film with trust. The actors, particularly Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, delivered their best to portray the main characters of the book, and it was not easy and funny to shoot those racy sex scenes all the time.

Okay for me - the actors, the directing, the location (I really like the Red Room of Pain though), the glider, and 50% of the story.

Not okay for me - the soundtrack (I expect a lot of the soundtrack entirely based from the book), the other 50% of the story, the script (I think it needs some push related from the book), and costume.

My only opinion is that I do respect the author's intention to put the book into a movie, but I also do respect the director's vision to execute not just based from the book but also its artistry. So it is better to have an open mind and not be too judgmental about the movie.
