Underrated Coming of Age Gem of a Movie!
21 June 2012
This movie was fantastic. Honestly. Aside from being a personal fan of Juno Temple- everyone, aside from Clarke's father, acted realistically and heart-felt. The sequences in the movie, especially near the end, evoked some really thought-pondering emotions for me, and it brought me to a new perspective about single-parent families and how this really impacts the child. The writing of the movie was quirky and the 1980s mise-en-scene, Jovovich was absolutely stunning and the plot wasn't dull as some people may have said (coming of age movies usually have that plot- thats what makes it a COA movie).

One thing that would have upped this movie to a 8/9 would be adding more realism. Compared to the plot of Hick or Transamerica, or other girls/boys running away from home in search of something, 'Dirty Girl', lacks the violence and realism of situations. For example; Clarke's situation could have been portrayed in a much more grim and dark manner, where we can see the damages in a much more obvious manner hence making him a more complex character whom had experience.

If you like slightly cliché lines mixed with some good writing and good acting, then give this a chance, you might just fall in love with Ms. Temple.

Absolutely Addicting

This TV show is one of the best I've seen in years- it has such good material, the lines are written with style and wit and each individual character brings a distinct dimension to the show. It's a real gem and I was immediately hooked after the first episode. Some people would compare this show with BBT (Big Bang Theory) due to the scientific, technological aspects of the show, but I personally found this to be far more hilarious and less slow-paced or repetitive- all the stories are extremely original and the circumstances that the characters land in are, inevitably comical, so if you like really smart, intellectual humor, then you should definitely give this a shot!! (:

An Amazing Thrill Of A Ride!
12 October 2009
This movie is so far one of the best British comedies I've ever watched. The dialogs are funny, the story is well planned, and although you might not expect any high climax's due to it's limited production fee's, my heart was beating right out of my chest when the climax was reached!!

The character development was great, the beginning was funny and charming but I was slightly worried/put off by the beginning to think it was going to be boring, but stick with it for 5 more minutes and I'll swear you won't regret it! Anna Faris delivers a great performance as she sparks the silver screen with her natural abilities of a comedian and all the other actors such as Chris O'Dowd, Dean Lennox Kelly etc.. both interacts realistically with each other, forming brilliant chemistry.

This movie is for 'Science Fiction' lovers as well as people who are generally into space and time travel. There aren't any really mushy and romantic scenes, a mild sense of swearing, but all for the cynical outcome. DO WATCH! You might want to re-watch it again and again!
