Robin Hood (2010)

Bad bad, inaccurate movie...
19 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is not about Robin Hood at all, and it contains all typical Hollywood movie criteria that make it a bad movie: A simple soldier, who by chance becomes a hero, who saves a knight who's father knew the hero's father that created the first draft of the Magna Carta (what a coincidence!), a hero that is more adored by soldiers than the king himself, a hero who thinks that everyone is made equal, and that there is no difference between a knight and a squire (nobody thought like that at that time), a heroin who, has never fought a battle before, who, all of a sudden, is able to take a 30 lbs sword and kill enemy soldiers, a final battle where the heroin is almost slain and where the battle surrounding her and the hero suddenly stops, some folk of the village dancing on the tune of a music which has a decidedly pop music theme!... No this is definitely a bad movie, no historical accuracy, at best a fun movie to rent when it is raining outside and nothing better is out on DVD, otherwise stay away from it!! The acting was good though, within the limits of this bad plot.

Funny and entertaining...
22 July 2009
This movie has a good dose of humor and is quite funny to watch. It is based on a story of both a father and a son who are both cops and have a difficult time understanding each other as they are totally different, but must still work with each other. It is entertaining and light, and is quite funny because of its inside jokes and clichés of father-son relationships. And even though some of the jokes might not be understood for those who do not live in the province of Quebec, most jokes will be understood by everyone. I would give it 7.5 out of 10 if it was possible, as it is entertaining even though it will never become a great classic movie!

Star Trek (2009)

Reset!
13 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Let us be a little bit more serious on this movie. It is actually a big reset button for the entire Star Trek franchise, and a disappointing one at that. Can you imagine an entire planet being destroyed without any defense systems trying to destroy the enemy ship, that is what happened for both for Vulcan and Earth, pretty far-fetched.

I know Star Trek can be far fetched, but I think this Star Trek movie is one of the worst in this department. Yes, the special effects are nice, the crew is interesting and acting is good, but the story is flimsy, and forgot all the previous Star Trek movies and shows you watched they are now worthless and no longer exist in this movie's reality, because history has changed!!
