Mery per sempre (1989)
Great Look At Italy`s Juvenile Delinquency.
This film shows the reality in Italy`s Juvenile crime as pure as it is. It contains a good photography of Italy`s lowest suburbs and juvenile life(Beautifully made,by the way),and life inside one of the toughest reform school in the country.
Dramatic, brutal, shocking, realistic and sometimes funny. One of the best street-crime films about juvenile delinquency ever made, together with Spanish movie `Perros Callejeros`.
Compañeros (1998)
Beautiful and cool.My Favorite T.V. series.
My favorite T.v. series, better than the movie. It explores the life of the teenagers and teachers in school and in the outside world. It has a bit of everything, drama, comedy, and even action. The acting is good and so is the music.
Very cool,funny and realisticly made.
Yo, 'El Vaquilla' (1985)
A legend of the underworld!Based on a true story.
The story of one of Spain`s most famous delinquent, based on his book.El Vaquilla,a gypsy boy from Campo de la Bota,a very tough and poor ghetto were the police is afraid of entering even at daylight. With only eight years old he steals cars and drives, and with eleven his already the leader of a gang of modern out laws.Living a life of armed robbery`s,mugging and bag snatching. He is sent to prison at only thirteen years of age because his already escaped from every reform school around.Juvenile delinquency, poverty and misery are witnessed in this film, together with a good sound track.
The film is done on a low budget but it is still very entertaining to watch, and at the same time dramatic. It shows the life of a kid fighting for his liberty in a life let loose on it self.Spain in the 70`s and 80`s had a very high percentage of delinquency, which created a lot of popular out laws and gangs of thieves.El Vaquilla was one of them, and today is the only remaining surviver of that generation that was destroyed by Heroin and Aids.Today he still lives in a maximum security prison in Barcelona. He is 40 years old,and still fighting for his liberty!
Low budget but done with a lot of heart and soul!
Deprisa, deprisa (1981)
Good document of juvenile delinquency! Some times slow, sometimes fast.
A good directed film, based on juvenile delinquency, with a marvelous photography. Not the best of this genre but its well done and has a great sound track that explains this world so purely, with the masters of rumba (Los Chunguitos). The director, influenced by other films like `Perros Callejeros` used real kids from the streets to give the film a more realistic touch. The main actor (Jose Antonio Valdelmoro) Pablo in the film, died two years later the same way as told in the film.
Pablo and Angela are in love, but also they are poor and together with their friends El Meca and Sebas they are forced to live a life of crime to survive and escape the suburbs of Madrid. The four of them steal cars and plan armed robbery`s to earn money, and also as part of the street life they do drugs. These kids are known as good people among there neighbourhood, but can also be violent and very dangerous. Will they live to see their dreams come true and make it out of this world?Watch this movie and find out!Very entertaining.

Another Day in Paradise (1998)
A Marvelous Crime Movie,very Realistic.
One of the best crime movies I have ever seen.It has everything a crime film needs, realistic action and violence, sex and drugs, and a smashing classic sound track. The acting is great, and so is the photography. Its also very realistic, and entertaining to watch from start to finish. Vincent Kartheiser`s performance of a juvenile delinquent is marvelous,in this film he can really prove his a good actor. The story is explosive and done with a lot of heart.
A beautifully made crime movie! One of the best Larry Clark films, for now.
New Jersey Drive (1995)
The most entertaining `Growing up in the hood movie` ever made!
This film is explosive!Probably the most entertaining `Growing up in the hood movie` ever. Its made very realistic and has a brutal story of survival and police brutality against juvenile offenders. You never get board because there's something going on every time, from start to finish, and the sound track makes it even better. Its like a documentary of juvenile delinquency, mostly car thefts, and life in the toughest black suburbs in New Jersey.
Based on reality, true in every way!
Clockers (1995)
Children of the ghetto, running wild and free...
One of the best films of Spike Lee. It shows a lot of reality, and is quite shocking to, because its pure. The story is dramatic and powerful. Strike is a young drug dealer and leader of a gang of clockers, but they all work under the orders of Rodney,a known gangster. Also in the story is Errol Barnes,a psycho junkie infected with H.I.V. and probably the most violent of them all.The film is about a murder investigation, the horrors of Crack, and life in a ghetto let loose on it self.
The sound track is also good, straight out of this world of crime and misery!
Todo por la pasta (1991)
One of the best Crime, investigation movies ever!
A very entertaining film, with action, suspense and a hint of comedy.
This film has almost everything a crime movie has to offer.A perfect armed robbery, which follows in a double murder and betrayal. An investigation let loose on itself, police corruption at its highest, and a look at Bilbao`s lowest and most dangerous estates.
Its a Spanish delinquency movie of the 70`s and 80`s mixed with a modern American detectives movie, but maybe more realistic than the Americans!
Actor Antonio Resines in one of his best roles ever.
A must see.
Los últimos golpes de 'El Torete' (1980)
A Comical look at the life of the famous delinquent `El Torete`
This film is a comedy, based on the delinquency in Barcelona (Spain).
Two of the most famous delinquents of that time `El Torete` and `El Vaquilla` team up together and fight for their liberty against society that has mistreated them ever since they were kids, just because they are poor. Together they steal cars and rob banks, becoming heroes of the underworld, and the kings of street crime, with a good Rumba sound track.
`El Torete` was played by `El Torete` himself,as he had a natural talent to act.But `El Vaquilla` was played by a professional actor,as at that time he was in prison.
Bad Boys (1983)
Americas Juvenile Crime,
In this Film you are not going to see the usual American Kids they want you to see,but you will see the more Real and less unfortunate ones. We have to admit that America is not very keen in this subject (Juvenile Delinquents,Petty Crime)as Spain is, but this movie is not that bad. Mick O`brian (Sean Penn) is a tough street kid trying to survive the best way he can and knows.Living a life of crime as in mugging, bag snatching, car thefts and armed robbery`s,he will stop at nothing to keep the only things his got,his liberty and the love of his girlfriend J.C. (Ally Sheedy). But his luck will change when he is sent to a juvenile prison for armed robbery and murder. There he will experience the horrors behind bars, and meet new enemies.
This film is not so realistic as it should be,but its still quite entertaining. Its also quite brutal and dramatic. Juvenile Delinquency is a very interesting subject for movie making, but only with the right Director and screen writers.
7/10.
Perros callejeros II (1979)
More Dramatic and powerful than the First!
This one, rather than the first part concentrates more on the dramatic side of whats behind the delinquents life.Poverty, misery and discrimination can be watched together with prostitution and life behind steel bars. This film is brutal, and has a very explicit look on this reality that society ignores.Like the first its based on a true story. The sound track is great for those who like Rumba, especially the end credits song called `Soy un Perro Callejero`.
Its an interesting underground film.Maybe its not the typical American movie but its still a master piece!
Trainspotting (1996)
A Realistic comedy
This film is quite realistic and comical at the same time. Its a look at Edinburgh`s lowest estates and the horrors of heroin addiction. Its interesting and funny to watch, together with a good sound track which makes in even more entertaining.
Although it's a funny look at this world, it's quite conscious and we have to remember the importance of the subject being "Drug Addiction" and misery.
Navajeros (1980)
Petty Crime at its best
A great look at the juvenile delinquents in Madrid, based on fact. El Jaro, a 15 year old famous delinquent and leader of his gang will do anything to survive and protect his respect and freedom.Growing tough with his knife he will fight to keep his liberty and live to see another day.Its like watching an urban comic book.Very entertaining. Straight from the heart of the streets.
El pico 2 (1984)
Powerful, shocking and Dramatic,A very realistic look at drug addiction and life behind bars in!
One of the most powerful films ever made, together with the first part. El Pico 2,is about a murder investigation, police corruption, heroin addiction, drug dealing, life in prison, sex, homosexuality, friendship, and survival, together with a great sound track that explains it all....
Warning, contains explicit images!
Colegas (1982)
A great look at teenage life and friendship in the marginated side of Madrid. Beautifully made.
One of the best films of Director Eloy de la Iglesia. A document of Madrid in the 1980's and life in the most conflict areas around. A story of teenagers struggling to survive.
Rosario, Antonio's sister (Jose's girlfriend) is pregnant. Due to their life circumstances and the fear of revealing the truth to her parents they decide the best thing is an abortion. Unfortunately this requires money which they don`t have, but need to find. Antonio and Jose (life long friends) will do anything to obtain it.A good film with a great photography.
It contains some strong scenes of nudity, teenage sex and drugs. Dramatic, realistic and beautifully made movie.
Perros callejeros (1977)
A story of real out laws,Based on fact!
Perros Callejeros is based on the juvenile delinquence of the 1970`s and 80`s in Spain. The story is set in `Barrio de la Mina` in Barcelona one of the most conflict neighbourhoods in Spain. The charectars chosen were real juvenile delinquents all with criminal records, which the director used to give the film a realistic touch, and maybe to give them the chance to change, but unfortunately non of them live today.
This film is very powerful and dramatic, it shows how these kids were brought up to survive on the streets, and how life mistreated them because they were poor!
The movie is very realisticly made and has a strong content of the Marginated life in Spain. Something that everyone seems to ignore when they have no direct relation with. It is full of realistic action and suspence. Car thefts, Car chases, Bag Snatchers, Armed robberies, Sex and a soundtrack that comes straightout of this world - `Rumba`.
Angel Fernandez Franco, `El Torete` was one of the most famous deliquents of that time, which the director `Jose Antonio de la Loma` Contracted him to play himself as he had a natural talent to act. The Success of this film drove `de la Loma` to use `El Torete` for two more films based on his life, which were `Perros Callejeros 2` and `Los Ultimos Golpes del Torete`. Unfortunately when the films were over `El Torete` turned back to his normal life and died at the age of 29, in 1989 victim of H.I.V.
NOT TO BE MISSED AS ITS MORE THAN JUST A MOVIE!
ITS A DOCUMENT OF THE REAL WORLD
