The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Boring and long winded
I thought it would never end. Tedious and boring. Such a shame. I think perhaps they should stop making any movies in this series. I lost interest very quickly.
Triple Frontier (2019)
Ridiculous plot
Really dumb plot, the movie dragged on and I was glad when it was over. Very tempted to switch it off. Disappointing considering the cast!
Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019)
Superb behind the scenes insight
Absolutely fantastic TV series of F1 and some of the drivers including their family life. Wonderfully edited story that makes you feel part of the action. Try one episode and you will be hooked!
14 Minutes from Earth (2016)
Bunch of cowboys risking a mans life with dodgy quality and cliche catch phrases
What a bunch of cowboys. God help us if this is how Google develop and deploy engineering solutions. I guess the cost of stuffing up a code deployment is lower than killing a man. Glad Google haven't decided to enter the space race. 😀 That said it's entertaining viewing!
Downsizing (2017)
Depressing - trailer might as well be for another movie
Very misleading trailer. This moving is depressing and completely different from what we expected having watched the trailer. We sat waiting for it to take a turn for the better. At the end we were both a little shell shocked at how terrible this movie was.
Sweet Country (2017)
Painfully SLOW!
So slow you might fall asleep. Very disappointing, the plot is reasonable and there are moments that you reflect upon after watching the movie. But its like listening to a boring person tell an uninspiring simple story story across 2 hours. If I hadn't watched this as a preview at an open air cinema I would have walked out from the theatre. I doubt the 7.2 rating will last very long once this hits general release. I feel for the stars in the cast, the editing is poor. Perhaps some will view this as an arty film, I would say if it was edited to between 60 and 90 minutes it would be more bearable. Definitely better titles out there to watch during your valuable spare time. A let down for Australian productions, frankly embarrassing for our local industry!
Pirate Radio (2009)
Very entertaining enjoyable movie
A top movie with a cracking story. Easy to watch with plenty of funny moments. Im not sure why people would write anything bad about it...ease up guys, go watch question time or read todays Independent to scratch your itch. Its great to see another British movie with a strong largely British cast.
Bill Nighy's character 'Quentin' his very amusing. He is a sea of tranquility even faced with the most difficult situations, an inspiration to any leader out there and yes Im sure they have smoked weed too. Nick Frost is hilarious as always, very cheeky chappy that really flicked my switch! I didn't experience the 60's but I can imagine why this type of radio station was such a welcome relief to the generation of the time. The stiff upper lip of Kenneth Branagh who plays 'Sir Alistair Dormandy' immerses you in the feeling that the world just needed to rebel, a short scene at his home at Christmas was particularly amusing. I think I've met people like that in my life and I just wanted to shake them.
The Girlfriend Experience (2009)
Dull
On the whole the movie is dull without much imagination and contains as much passion and emotion as a pine tree. The final 5-10 minutes contain a little interest as the story leads to the ultimate outcome of the book which is being written of the escort Chelsea. Although a rather predictable boring verdict. I suppose it was interesting to see what shallow, materialistic yet completely unfulfilled lives some wealthy people live in America and indeed around the world, such a waste of life. I saw the movie through but was mighty tempted to switch it off several times throughout. If you have anything remotely exciting to do with your life, do it...if you have an opportunity to watch another movie do it, make this movie your choice when David Letterman comes on TV.
