Robots (2005)
You might loose your nuts & bolts in the mid-section!!!
Okay - seriously , I had been looking forward to being able to take my son to see this movie for weeks after watching the trailers online with him. I must say the animation this film is superb. There really is good character development in the first part of the movie to spark your interest and create the illusion that this is gonna be a great movie...but, hold your breath...you may be in for the ride of your life! The movie looses it's momentum rather early on and I actually felt dizzy and nauseated during the entire main part of the film. The best parts are the opening scenes, and the adorable happy ending!!! Boy was I happy when the movie was over!!! If only they could've designed a Robot that could edit the entire 45 minutes in the middle of this scrap pile celluloid junk!!! Yep - make your kids happy - take them to see robots - they will probably love it - but you have been warned - do not see this movie on an full stomach. If you are pregnant, prone to dizziness or motion sickness - you might want to skip it.
Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
This movie is pop paradise!!!
This movie has always been one of my top ten movies of all time!!!
I first saw it when I was 8 years old when my twisted parents took me to see a late night double feature of Phantom of the Paradise and The Rocky Horror Picture Show... That was the beginning of my moral demise!!! (That's another story...)
The Phantom of the Paradise is a Rock and Roll tragedy based on the story of Faust and the Phantomof the Opera! This is Brian De Palma's first film and he really creates a wonderful pop comedy musical with classic references to old classic horror flicks!
Paul Williams writes the fantastic musical soundtrack that I also own...
This is a must see for anyone who likes their films very campy and out of the ordinary!!!
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003)
I'd rather staple my eyelids shut
Okay, Seriously, if there is anything you ever do for yourself ever during your existence here on earth, please I beg, I warn and plead with you... DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE EVER!!!
I really did like the first and I rented this movie with some apprehension (I had heard the bad reviews, and wanted to see it for myself)
Now I wish I could turn back the hands of time and never have rented this terrible movie.
I would rather staple my eyelids shut than to ever have to sit thru this movie again!!!
The acting is horrendous, The jokes pathetic, and Reese Witherspoon's character is even more pathetic (if possible). You will suffer beyond belief if you choose to watch this film, if you like pain, then find another means of torture - this film only leaves you unsatisfied and red, black and blue!!!
Igby Goes Down (2002)
"Igby" is close to perfection
This film is as close to perfection as I could have hoped for in a film!!! Every character is fleshed out and interesting, by the end of the film I wanted more, more, more!!! The director's comments about the deleted scenes only added to my appreciation of the film and what the director was striving for. I highly recommend this movie to anyone with a pulse.
