Weakest Link: Star Trek Edition (2001)
Dawson
This is a MUST WATCH for any Star Trek fan. :) The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 was the bad timing of the producers for making Roxann Dawson do those comments. I commend her, as it really did sound like she was earnestly insulted, as most of the comments I've seen seems to share.
However, don't be too hard on RD, there's always another side of the story. "We all had a great time shooting Weakest Link," Dawson wrote at her official web site's message board. "Wil and I especially had fun sparring. It was all in jest. My comments at the end of the show were in keeping with the spirit of our fun sparring. I wish I could even take credit for the idea. It was recommended that I say that by the producers. I thought it was funny. It's a shame they cut away from my comment before I started laughing. The aim of the show is to create conflict - and I guess they did. I didn't take offense to Bill Shatner saying he could take me in a fight. What does he think I am, a weak woman?!! LOL. Come on everybody 'lighten up.' We were all having fun. Wil is great and I loved doing the show with him." I was shocked when I first saw the show and she said what she said, but it does make sense that the filming people had her say this... it apparently was just a "sparing plot" that backfired.
Friends (1971)
Outstanding timepiece.
Most of these reviews are dead on, so I'll cut to a different chase and answer a couple of questions I've seen on here.
While the characters seem and look young (hence the controversy), the actor/actress themselves were 17 and 18 at the time and so obviously over the 16 barrier. Here in the USA, that's still somewhat controversial but the simplicity and innocence of the film does much to offset it.
I'm sorry not to have seen more by Sean; in this movie at least his expressions are demonstrative and obvious; you know exactly what the character is feeling whether he's angry, afraid, or confused. Anicee had a healthy career, who's life was cut unfortunately short by cancer in late 2006. She was a beautiful and talented actress.
VHS tapes of FRIENDS can be found at Amazon.com occasionally, but usually for a significant price; I've seen it as low as $60 or so and as high as $152 (as of this comment, there were two for that price). The sequel video PAUL & MICHELLE is not quite as pricey and can be obtained (when available) on Amazon for between $16 and $70 on average.
