The White Lotus: Ciao (2022)
Love the series but . . .
I know that Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) is loved by the critics. I know that many fans find her hilarious. I know that she won an Emmy for the role. But I want to kill her. Call me callous but Tanya is absolutely the most annoying character I think i have ever seen. Neurotic, needy, selfish, inconsiderate, sour, . . . I run out of words. Nonetheless I watch the show because it's otherwise so good. I originally quit Season 1 in the middle of episode 2 because it didn't seem to be going anywhere. The favorable critical hoopla led me back to it and I ended up loving it, especially the loathsome Cameron. Season 2 is even better, largely due to Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson (the delightful Portia), and the engaging Beatrice Grannò and Simona Tabasco as the two local Italian girls.

Yet Another Dark Movie
It's called a motion PICTURE, for God's sake. That means there is supposed to be something to look at besides a nearly black screen. Surely modern cinematography can depict a night scene in which the action is still discernible. I am so tired of these "moody" non-movies. I tried to watch another one today in which even what were presumably well-lit interiors, like a hospital corridor, were dim. Why"
And that is aside from the disconnect between the stupid physical anomaly on the ranch, the hot girl camping, and the feud between the neighboring ranchers. Now maybe those threads get connected somehow but if so it was long after I tired of looking at the damned black screen and trying to understand the motives of the characters' behaviors. What a waste of film (or videotape).

Why So Dark:
I too love this series. I also hate, hate, dark movies. As in dark lighting, not dark mood. It's called a movie, a moving PICTURE show. It absolutely drives me crazy when nearly every scene is shot is near darkness so that it's impossible to follow the action. If this continues I'll have to give up the series, damnit.
One Shot (2021)
A very stupid movie.
A very stupid movie. The moderator won't let me post because he says more words are needed. They are not. More word just waste your time.
This is a very stupid movie.
Salt (2010)
Ridiculous
I defy anyone to explain how the plot is rational. This film is complete dreg exept for Angelina's beauty.
Messiah (2020)
Do you remember "Being There?"
"Being There" is a 1979 film with Peter Sellers playing the role of Chance, the gardener, a/k/a "Chauncey Gardiner," a completely undeducated man whose non-sensical musings are taken as great pearls of wisdom. Messiah is much like that.
Manifest (2018)
Typically stupid network drek
This show is based on a preposterous premise which the show makes no attempt to explain, not that any would be possible. I thought it might generate some interest in dealing with how passengers coped with the experience, but the poor writing and wooden acting ruled that out. Worse, the plane that was shown in flight in the early part of episode 1 was a Boeing 737, the plane that landed was an Airbus 319/320/321. Hey--maybe that's a clue to the mystery. NOT.
