Messiah (2020)
Edge of the seat!
I was expecting another evangelical sponsored cheeseball take on Jesus, and was I surprised.
After watching it, one considers how The Son of God would actually be regarded were he to come again. This is a take on it that made me think about my own entrenched reactions and how hard they would be to shift even in the face of divinity. Also, another perspective on what God may or may not want as an outcome to an experience.
800 Words (2015)
Pretty good
Nice to cruise through something where thinking isn't required and there are no disaster ambushes, but it is tough to care about the characters. So far, there is no chemistry between any of the couples, and everyone is thin, pretty there are no babies or old people. The writing is not so artificial that it constantly distracts, but it doesn't really hold attention either. I gave it extra points for pretty scenery.
Bokeh (2017)
post event story
I am writing a review of this because there were so many bad ones, and I disagree. I decided to watch it based on the one good review I saw, and I'm glad I did. It is a nice simple, well made study of grief and the stark mood of it is perfect. I recommend this movie to anyone who doesn't need the flash of a typical science fiction or fantasy story, but appreciates a good allegory.
