Hurry Om Hurry (2023)
Heartwarming entertainment. Kudos to Nisarg Vaidya on his directorial debut.
"Hurry Om Hurry" is a delightful testament to the remarkable evolution of Gujarati cinema. Siddharth Randeria delivers another stellar performance, complemented by the impressive talents of emerging stars Raunak and Vyoma, who captivate with their on-screen charisma. The film signifies the industry's growth in the past 5 years, showcasing improved screenplay, meaningful narratives, modern music, and culturally pertinent social messages. A captivating masterpiece, it seamlessly entertains audiences of all ages. I watched it with my father (85 yrs) in Vadodara, was a joy as he loved it. "Hurry Om Hurry" is a heartwarming, entertaining experience that underscores the bright future of Gujarati cinema. Can't wait to see more from this director and production team.
Listen... Amaya (2013)
One of the years best films!
I am always biased when it comes to Farooq Shaikh films. He effortlessly eases into any role he takes on with his beautifully executed nuanced performances. This movie is no exception. As Jazz Jayant, Farooq once again delivers a heartwarming A+ performance.
The movie which gradually grows on you is a sensitive depiction of a mother-daughter relationship. The film deals with the insecurities faced by Amaya(Swara Bhaskar) the daughter, when she learns about the growing relationship between her mother (Deepti Naval) and her photographer friend (Farooq). The film is neither preachy nor over dramatized and takes you in with its beautiful depiction of human connections. There are many scenes where nothing is said, but a lot is conveyed simply via expressions. I loved every character in the film - each characters peels layers of emotions and helps build this beautiful thought provoking story-line. So Listen Amaya does make you stop and listen. By the way, beautiful shots of quaint bazaars in the Chandni Chowk, Hauz Khas and Khan market areas of Delhi.
Overall a beautiful film, subtle and sincere. Kudos to Geeta and Avinash Singh for creating this delicate masterpiece in their first attempt. I hope they make more films in the future.
Club 60 (2013)
Heart warming film with stars from yesteryear's - Refreshing!
I don't write reviews very often but felt compelled to because I enjoyed this film so much.
Club 60 is a coming of age story of five seniors with a very nice message. It features Farooq Shaikh (who continues to demonstrate a golden touch in his choice of films), Raghubir Yadav, Satish Shah, Tinnu Anand and Sarika among others. All characters are lovable, but Raghuvir Yadav steals the show. He deserves an award for this heart warming performance.
The films heart lies in its comic timing and narration of heart touching human connections. Stellar performances from Raghubir Yadav, Sarika and Farooq Sheikh. A genuine effort with events based on true-life characters that will make you laugh and cry. Don't miss this gem.
The Brooke Ellison Story (2004)
a beautiful and inspiring film
The movie is based on the book "Miracles Happen: One Mother, One Daughter, One Journey," by Brooke Ellison and her mother, Jean Ellison. A moving film which is inspiring and ennobling.
The film is about the Ellisons, an average American family which takes extraordinary steps to overcome their daughters disability, without knowing their actions would one day be worthy of film material. Very respectful and honest story telling.
The movies shows you that every person has a choice - they can either blame their circumstances and wallow in mediocrity or have a positive attitude and contribute to society.
Christopher Reeve does an excellent job at directing this movie and so does the rest of the acting staff. Both Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio playing the mother and up and coming John Slattery playing the father were a true delight to watch.
This movie is a must!

Seabiscuit (2003)
Excellent Movie
Inspirational! Good acting, Good photography and an absorbing film. Toby McGuire has done a great job executive producing this film while playing a very convincing jockey. Cooper as the trainer was a good choice and Bridges was superb. Overall, a great way to spend 153 minutes.
