The Brady Bunch: The Cincinnati Kids (1973)
Great Snapshot of The Time
The premise of this episode might be suspect but it's a great way to view mid-'70s America. The crowd scenes makes me laugh looking at the striped shirts, plaid shorts and black socks. We were reeling from Vietnam, Watergate and the energy crises. It's nice to see Americans persevere.
Movin' On: From Baltimore to Eternity (1975)
One Of The Better Episodes
This is one of the better episodes. For once there is actually a lot of driving, so a lot of nice shots of the Kenworth. There is some excellent comical interaction between Claude Akins and Frank Converse. The whole episode is a nice snap shot of mid-seventies east coast United States.
The Black Dahlia (2006)
Don't Waste Your Time or Money
I just left the theater and wish I went to the dentist instead. Although it is well acted and the sets are beautiful, the plot has more holes in it than a 50 year old row boat. The plot is completely confusing one is unable to follow it. Different characters are thrown in at different times. The plot seems to change to suit what is needed to fit the moment. Rather than a complete and thorough story based on the actual investigating(which would have been interesting), this dramatization has the feel of a high school drama class having fun with period costumes they've found in Wardrobe. I really wanted to like this movie, but instead I couldn't wait for it to end.
