SO ridiculous it is fantastic, being into gaming helps
14 November 2023
I'm calling it now, this is going to become a cult classic.

Hilariously satirically and yet totally on point for current VR/Gaming/Influencer/Social media culture.

I have no affiliation with this film, I know no one in it, nor connected to it. Least not to my knowledge. This is a completely unbiased opinion.

The acting is great, the sound track works, the directing, all of it.

My guess that the currently low review score is that the watcher must be into one of the sub-cultures I mentioned above to understand the jargon. Otherwise, all the jokes, will go straight over ones head.

I loved it, found it extremely entertaining, silly smile plastered on my face the whole time sort of funny. :D.

Mayfair Witches (2023– )
5/10
*Edited*, forgetaboutit, Can't watch anymore
9 January 2023
Originally titled, "Great start, anticipating further episodes!" That and the start of this review was after the first episode. I will indicate * where my update below starts.

So happy this was finally made into the series, but I was concerned it would fall short of doing the novels justice. So far it has not and I am really pleased. Pleased with the actors, the delivery and paced timing.

I cannot wait to see the depth of these characters explored and brought to life on the screen. I am sure Anne Rice would have been thrilled, her works being made into a series was something she had wanted for so long. After Interview with a Vampire deviating from the original storyline, though not really to ill effect, I am still relieved to see our Mayfair family true to the original form thus far.

I was always in the team of wanting see the Witching Hour brought to TV, so I am extremely excited about this all.

For those who have yet to read the books, I assure it is truly an original storyline and has not been done before or since Rice brought it to us. She had often said in the past, she didn't believe in Vampires, but she believed in witches!

I am heady at the idea this series will dive into the carefully crafted backstory of this family, into their secrets and deeply complicated history.

I highly recommend giving this show a fair chance, again this storyline has not been seen before and on this alone it is worth the time due to originality.

*Forgetaboutit! Totally threw out the brilliance of this story for a what? WHY? Why get rid of two of the most important characters? Why do stupid plot lines that been done over and over again? They had to put their stamp on something brilliant? Well you ruined the meal. Like pouring a container of ketchup on the most perfect master chef meal, "It's ready for mainstream now!" You could have just came up with a new show, just like a cook could have made a hotdog and served that up instead.

Aquaman (2018)

Pleasantly Surprised and Very Entertained
23 March 2019
I am not what you would call a DC movie fan, but this one has thoroughly impressed me. First I will point out what kept me from giving this a full-blown 10: the depth of the characters of the main characters could have dived in deeper. Next, though the action was well done and didn't hinder the flow of story, I wouldn't have mind them skipping a couple of the scenes and allow the story to be carried forward with more dialog/depth. That said, I knew what I was getting into was going to be a full-blown action, and where that is concerned, it did not disappoint. There were no laggy, over-drawn out sequences, it was interesting visuals and effects. I am ever so grateful I did not have to watch some form of a car chase. NOW, the good stuff, the creativity of Atlantis, was stupendously beautiful and supreme eye candy. I was ever so delighted, and my eyes feasted on the dazzling colors, coupled with architectural imagery. Bravo! Nicole Kidman, ability to bring emotional depth, thus was perfectly paired with the fun-loving nature of Jason Momoa, and resulted with injecting a lot of heart into the film. I really enjoyed this movie.

Just Visiting (2001)

Laughed until my sides hurt!
22 September 2018
No spoilers. Just want to state I cannot for the life of me understand the current IMDB score. This movie is a comedic gem. At the very least it should be a 6.5. & It is clean comedy. Nothing vulgar or crude. Without giving away the story, I can say everything is perfectly imagined. From the characters hilarious reactions to the results of their antics, just had me rolling! If you have not watched yet, and like to laugh, you'll enjoy this.

I am very picky, but I liked this one good enough

Warning: Spoilers
Personally, this movie had my interest through out. I think this film attracted people not accustomed to period drama's and hence the poor rating on IMDb. I love period dramas and this one was as decent as any other. Was it a perfect film? No, but it still entertained me. Bonus is I could not guess the ending, it had a good twist. Still not sure if she was entirely taken over or had to share her body with the soul of the boy's mother. Did leave me with a bit of a sinister feel, if that mother took entirely over the woman.

Suspect Zero (2004)

Great film with poor choice of music
21 September 2013
I enjoyed this script, the acting, everything about this film was excellent except sadly the ever so important sound track. Not that the music was horrible, it was just a very, very poor match to the film. I almost cringed half the time due to it not matching the tempo of the film. Plot, dialog, performances, all of it was stellar. I am very finicky with story-lines, I must have a good plot to follow or I am bored to death and this movie had it. With the right music this film would have easily hit a rating of 7 or 8 for me. Sadly the way it is now, I can only rate it a 5.5. All in all, it is still worth the watch and if you can realize from the start that it is the music setting the wrong tempo, then you may be able to overlook it and enjoy the film perhaps envisioning it how it could have been with the right sound.

Baby Daddy (2012–2017)
4/10
Outdated
22 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
It's not realistic and a tad annoying in the beginning. Men, especially the young men of today, are far from that clueless. My brother (Deans list brilliant kid) was helping a friend by already babysitting at 15 years old. Maybe a poorly raised man will have no skills with children, but I cannot be made to believe that all 3 of these men have no empathic bone and would be that dumb in this day and age. The writers made them look sadly pathetic rather then funny. It is Not reality and I am confused on who would think it is, or who would try to present it as if it is. Also, many girls at that age nowadays (not all but quite a few)would run from babies like the plague. So the girl walking in all cooing, is sweet but in the face of the guys ignorance it feels 20 years outdated and very chauvinistic. In fact when I had my daughter I was the one with less experience with "babies" and it was her father that had to show me everything. I'm giving it a 4, in hopes it has better jokes, rather then "Right side of the fridge is mine." sort of nonsense. The actors were endearing and their energies seemed to work well off each other and that is the only reason I am not giving up on the show entirely. If it turns into a happy Dad/Daughter show, that would be sweet, but right now it needs a lot of work.

Project Nim (2011)
7/10
Null and void from start.
21 December 2011
This is a movie about a project handle wrong from the starting line. At first I was intrigued by the idea of this movie. But upon the first few minutes I realized this is just a mess, they ruined their subject, NIM, right from the beginning. The woman Stephanie did nothing to try and raise the chimp in human fashion, outside of unconditional "love". She loved him, but she didn't guide him. This wasn't about accepting him as he was, the whole idea was to bring him up "human". She let him run free with no reinforcement to correct negative behavior to others. She seemed kindly enough, but so wrong for the intended purpose. By the time he was placed in the care of another more orderly individual, all characteristic traits had been ingrained in him. As with human kids their developmental stages end at 7, I am no expert but I imagine it is much earlier with chimps. The crucial time was missed and they thus messed up an animal, suspending him in a limbo of identity neither suiting him particular well.

The movie is more about a team of people trying to salvage and place an off the track train back on it, when the damage was already done.
