Condemned and Possessed (1978)
I hope I remember correctly....
I did a lot of searching for that one childhood movie memory, and I think that this is the movie.
SPOILER!!!!!!! Although a spoiler doesn't seem to matter much in a movie that can't be found anymore....
I think that this is the movie about a possessed child (son) that a mother can't do anything about (but she still tries). The main scene that I remember is at the end of the film. The possessed son comes up a set of stairs with a knife, and he is after his mother....... if I remember correctly, that is where the story ends, leaving you to believe that the mother dies because she couldn't possibly defend herself against a demon in her child's form.
If anybody knows where I can find this movie, (or if I am possibly referring to a different movie), please tell me!
Terra (2007)
Surprisingly Great Movie!
I saw this movie on Netflix. I was just browsing through some titles, and I saw "Battle for Terra". I clicked on the title and saw that it was animated. At that point, I almost just went to the next movie, but then I saw some of the star-filled cast.......so I started watching the movie, thinking that I would turn it off after 10 minutes, but it got me. It sucked me in, kept me there, and left me with a few happy tears at the end.
This movie surely could have been better if it wasn't animated and had the budget of Avatar, but my 9 out of 10 shows that I have no major complaints.
I will be recommending this movie to a bunch of my friends.
Anjos do Sol (2006)
The most moving film that I have ever seen.
I'm not much of an expert on acting or other movie details, but this movie just hit me deep. I don't think I'll ever forget it. One scene especially (I think that anybody who has seen the film will know of which one I am speaking) is imprinted on my brain.
I also watched the similar movie Lilja 4-ever (as referred to by a previous commentator). It was also very moving, but not quite as straight to the point and brutal. If you are sensitive at all, either will bring tears to your eyes, but Anjos Do Sol (Angels of the Sun) may stay with you forever.
This is very depressing subject matter, but I think, no, I HOPE that the film succeeds in bringing more attention to it.
More people need to see this film!!!!!!
