I'm a Poe admirer, and was looking forward to this production, the contemporary view of the Usher, read Sackler family with their obscene wealth, laced with references to various Edgar Allan Poe stories was interesting though sometimes a bit stretched.
My main problem with the series was the vulgarity of it all, the usage of the f word in just about every sentence was over the top, it was just too vulgar, and not necessary, it also was a bit strange hearing Poe's poetry recited while in the next sentence the dialogue falls back to simple street talk, using many words which I cannot post here because IMDB considers them too profane and offensive.
Same with the use of sex, while useful in proper amounts, it was just doused upon too many scenes, making the viewer numb, and as a result losing it's effectiveness.
The acting wa decent, I thought Bruce was on the money, seeing Mark Hamill was nice as well
I did like the later episodes, although the moral preachiness while true, did sometimes push the envelope.
In the end worthy of a watch, but this could have been much better with a bit more class, and less trash.
