Homeland (2011)
quite some goofs
Carrie Mathison is wearing the head scarf while in public and visiting the prison in Iraq but she is also wearing a skirt which barely covers her knees. In a Islamic country like the Iraq, women including foreign, western women have to cover the knees.
The wife of Nicholas Brody is not informed that her husband is alive. Usually the army would contact and inform her almost straight away. In the episode Nicholas Brody is rescued, flown from Iraq to Germany, taken care of and then he requests to talk to his wife. During all this time (probably about one full day)she is kept about that in the dark. Very unbelievable...
2012: Supernova (2009)
not worth watching - not even for 5 minutes
there is nothing positive to tell about this movie. Acting horrible - Story? "A scientist tries to save the Earth from the deadly blast of a star gone supernova." where are all the scientists, NASA experts, military, politicians, the president? One scientist is trying to save the Earth with the help of a Chinese woman (who obviously did not grow in China) and a half drunk Russian. Some poor Russian accent and a glass of vodka doesn't make a convincing Russian. Well yes there is a story, but it is really painful to see how poorly this story can be put together. Low budget is no excuse. I fell asleep after 30 minutes, don't waste your time and money on this flick.
Cloverfield (2008)
worst camera work
What bothered me most is the annoying camera work. Yes, yes I am aware that the viewer should get the impression that the footage it shot by a handy cam and not by professionals. But it just more and more annoying the longer you watch. The camera keeps most of the time tilting from left to the right in exactly the same angle, this gives the audience the impression that you are on a ship at open sea rather than being on land. Indeed, I had to fight sea sickness!
For comparison, the movie Quarantine is told by a hand held camera, but the makers didn't overdo it to become such a nerve-racking camera shaking.
