currently 6 on imdb, add 2 for racism, so... 8

A great, fun western. With hints beyond Tarantino to where he got a lot of his ideas; Fistful of Dollars and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, tossed with some modern funness and darkness and added a lot of great music. Anyway, I thought it was a fun, welcome western to add to my favorites collection. :)

make sure to keep a bed frame on hand...
8 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you like plan 9, you might like this. I loved it! The sheriff lady is magically everywhere... people appear and disappear and reappear... there's a lot of bed frames to block strange fungal people who might scream at you... And perhaps give you the fungus?? And then there's a beasty that appears... and a giant dust storm... I still don't know what happened... it's crazy inconsistent. It's a beautiful thing...

sigh...
4 January 2021
I loved it! the heroine got a little annoying at times, but the lead hero was very swoon worthy... loved eloise and her search, the clothes, the multi culturalism (maybe racists you can try pretending its an alter universe where people are just better in general...). its awesomely mushy, but not too silly and the sex scenes are hot! but man are there a lot... especially when you are watching it with family and youre like 'maybe i should watch this alone... in my bedroom... with the lights out...' anyway, i loved it and highly recommend it and i am not a typical hallmark holiday romance watcher- i like a bit of grit and intrigue... (i gave it 10 stars to counteract the racists and their many extra/fake accounts... id probably give it about an 8).

Huh?
7 February 2020
Do any of the writers actually know how to tell a story and keep it consistent? This had such promise, but it is all over the place and back and forth and back again. Whaaaat? I can't even figure out what to point out. Beautiful costumes, great settings... but it feels like there was no real consistencies, nothing made sense. Perhaps they were trying to work on surprising people, which, it was surpising at times, but so hodge podge it made it ridiculous.

Stumptown (2019–2020)

One of the few Portland shows I actually like
20 October 2019
I'm from Stumptown and I have checked out almost all the shows that are supposedly based here, but have not had one that I stuck with due to cringe factors. except Ramblin Rod, but that was when I was 8. So far so good with this one. I hear they aren't keeping it all in Portland, but that's okay. I like the lead, she feels real as a strong woman, not one of those tiny, wimpy girls with a squeaky voice who is amazingly able to beat people up regardless of how large the opponent. To me, Cobie S. is believable. My only request is, if anyone doing the show ever reads this, with all the little plugs for businesses and our sports teams here and there, can you please do a visual advert for our sports team that has actually won a national championship? The Portland Thorns?

Raising Dion (2019–2022)

Great show!
20 October 2019
Funny that this was never advertised, Netflix... I went in thinking this was the sort of show about a single mom having a tough time raising her son, but it is a lot more than that! It's a how do you raise a super hero show. Plus who is the villain show. Plus it's very aware of topics today... plus Dion is adorable. anyhoo, I Highly recommend it and nobody paid me to say that.

Hell on Wheels: Bear Man (2014)

Sigh...
8 July 2015
I liked this episode. I don't know what is up with everyone. I was wondering what happened to Elam since witnessing him being attacked by a grizzly towards the end of Season 3. He and Eva were my favorite couple. So I was glad to have clarification as to what happened to him. Plus, Common is fine and he has an awesome voice.

Btw, to another reviewer, LSD, Lysergic Acid Diatholomide is a derivative from Ergot, a fungus that can grow, naturally, in rye or other grasses. It is one theory that the Salem, Massachusetts crazed witch hunt was due to a very bad batch of rye bread. So, yes, in a sense, Acid did happen long before Hell on Wheels time.

I found it more believable
23 May 2015
I really liked this version. I love the book, and I like many of the interpretations people have made throughout the years, but this Heathcliff made the most sense to me. He wasn't just a brooding, selfish man, he had a real reason for his anger and hatred for his treating Kathy so coldly. Yes, he had his reason of course in the earlier ones, but it never felt fully plausible. This I could see. Having witnessed racism, judgment for no reason other than the color of one's skin, it made more sense that the people who treated him so horribly did. The other versions just didn't seem real, Heathcliff was just an angry, handsome white man (yes he was a Romany, but non of the actors who played him, that I saw, were) who people happened to be mean to. Here, though it isn't right, it was more true to form people treating him in such a way. I could believe it, and I could sympathize more with him.
