Downhill (2020)
It's not a comedy, and it's great
If you go into this expecting a comedy you will be disappointed. As a married woman, with children, I found this movie to be beautiful. It's real, raw and uncomfortable. I find the harsh reviews to reflect a total misunderstanding of this movies intent.
Mulan (2020)
Great adaptation
The core storyline is the same but thoughtful modifications were made to transform this movie from an animated children's film into a legit action / adventure story. I LOVE the original movie - the music, the humor etc but I appreciate the fact that Disney did not try to replicate the original 1 to 1. They replicated the story. Big fan. This and Aladdin I find incredibly well done. Dumbo, not so much.
Aladdin (2019)
Yes, Yes, Yes, thank you Disney!
Coming off of Dumbo, which was a total disappointment, I was trilled to see a classic title stay true to the original story-line. It was elevated, thoughtful and modern - a true delight for all ages. The cast was fantastic, and I have to give Will Smith props. He had big shoes to fill. I can't wait to see the Lion King.
Sisters (2015)
Good Stuff
It made me reminisce about high school. You can still have fun as an adult - boom. No matter how old you are you still like a good party. There are laugh out loud moments. I really appreciated their throwbacks.Good stuff. So many amazing quotes that will become even funnier the second time around - like super troopers. "I say tonight we party like Vikings, because we know we could die tomorrow!" I just want to say I enjoyed this movie and love these ladies. There are a lot of cruddy comedies out there and this is up there with Bridesmaids - in my book. Yes it hits on some typically cliques but overall it's pretty funny. This is line eight, I did it.Yeah! I made it to ten lines.I hope I can now submit my review.
Point Break (2015)
This movie just suffers from a branding issue.
As a comparison to Point Break this movie falls short, but as an independent action / adventure flick it's awesome. Plot could use some work, but the visual effects and stunts are incredibly entertaining. The cinematography and aerial scenes are epic and showcase some of the most beautiful global locations. If this was re-released as a search to accomplish the Ozaki 8 this movie would be a hit. I found the story line around the Ozaki 8 to be very entertaining and better suited for the plot and story-line. The association with the original Point Break is unfortunate because it detracts from the amazing stunt work. I really hope more people give this movie a chance.
