Beautiful but confusing film
4 December 2009
This was a beautiful but ultimately confusing film.

There is an impressive cast of photogenic and talented actors, but the editing seems to have left parts of the story, which would explain its progression, out.

As a result, the story of the 'last' summer for the character played by Foster, it is only partly believable, and the poignancy that one can sense was aimed at, is missed.

There is good acting by the main actors, but the lines provided and the editing leave a lot to be desired.

It is worth seeing, but ultimately leads to a mix of emotions at the end, and not ones intended by the director.

Great Sci-Fi movie, particularly for fans of Psychic or HK featured films
4 December 2009
Watched this movie a few times now and it keeps getting better. More of a niche movie than a blockbuster though.

Overall there is a great cast, great acting by the main and secondary actors, and very original story in an interesting setting in Hongkong.

Story revolves around character played by Fanning who can predict the future with varying results. She meets up with others who have different psychic powers to try and save herself (& them) and her mother. Evans and Belle play the main adult characters, who have a puzzling relationship that underpins the main part of the story. The secondary actors are interesting, believable, and add to the story quite well.

For anyone that loves psychic movies, movies set in Asia, or movies with an attractive and talented young cast, this is a good way to spend two hours. Definitely adding this one to the 'keep' pile.
