Lupin (2021)
Not bad, Could be better
Overall interesting but not realistic. But after all it is a television show. So the escape from reality is to be expected. Scenery is fantastic, taking place in Paris and other areas of France. Having visited a few years ago I enjoyed that. Which blends me to a critique of the production. This is obviously a French show, with real French actors. Therefore they speak French. So we have a choice for how to show this in America on Netflix. Either subtitles or dubbing. They chose to dub ( my preference), but they missed the mark on this. The dubbing is done with no accents. Just plain non regional USA English. Why wouldn't you use English with a French accent. It would have made the show a little more interesting and believable.
The Oregon Trail (1959)
Fake! Fake! Fake!
Decent story, decent cast, but really can't stand movies that go back and forth between on location scenes and fake background studio scenes. Maybe they didn't look so fake back in the day but with 4K UHD, they look pretty ridiculous.
The Holly and the Ivy (1952)
Well written and acted but a few goofs.
In an early scene at the hotel the postmark on a letter is clearly an American postmark not an English one.
A few minutes later a street sign says Wydenham 15 miles. Street signs in England use kilometers not miles.
Crossfire (1947)
Good Film with Great Actors
Some great actors, Robert Mitchum, Robert Young & Robert Ryan. They all do a good job with a good & different story. Not a typical "Who Dunit "
Early in the movie when Mitchum is interviewed by Young in the Police Staion, FDR's picture is in the wall. The movie takes place right after WWII, when FDR had died and Truman was president.
