The Marvels (2023)
9/10
A nice, light-hearted addition.
8 November 2023
I thought the movie was a great addition to the MCU. It was light-hearted, the chemistry was great between the three leads and the action was creative and a joy to watch.

It's probably my second favourite movie after Guardians 3 since End Game. It balanced humour and emotional scenes very well and had bits and pieces of exposition to explain the other connected projects that won't leave you too left behind.

Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and althought the villain was entirely forgettable, everything else made up for it in the end. Quite literally, because the credit scenes were a surprise as I didn't read up on any spoilers beforehand.

Yes, it's Beautiful.
7 October 2012
This is a beautiful Korean Drama/TV Show. It's actually my first and I'm very impressed by the acting in this. Sulli from f(x) and Minho from SHINee are so good and are probably the best. Sulli being the boy is actually quite believable despite her showing some of her female side throughout the show. Minho comes out as tough and serious. He does it perfectly well, and when the time for him to be all funny and different, he does it so naturally you'd think he wasn't even acting! The supporting cast are great too. It has so much funny moments that just make you laugh ill you cry and sad moments that make you cry instantly. The music/soundtrack are also very impressive and come in the right moment! It's amazing how they do all this, I never expected this much. I clearly underestimated the Korean Entertainment Industry!

Recommended for any KPOP fans and anyone who are interested in Korean Dramas!

I Am Number 6.5!
2 October 2012
I was so excited to watch this film! I read and finished the book about two hours prior to watching I Am Number Four and was so excited to know if they adapted it well. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It came off as rushed, too fast, and confusing. All the past memories of Lorien were left out, many detailed explanations were left out, Henri was a prick, the Magodorians were ugly and humorous... I know they were supposed to be ugly, but it was a weird ugly, not a scary ugly.

The cast was pretty good. I thought Henri was the strongest character, but he was such a prick! I hated him so much, but I rather liked what Timothy Olyphant brought to the character; giving him a much tougher edge to him. Alex Pettyfer as John Smith was rather good. He gave the character a nice feel to it, although sometimes I thought he was a little too tough and tall! Sarah was a VERY much nicer character than in the book. She came off as much more natural and the romance wasn't as boring! Sam was a weird character. I imagined him to be much more nerdy, but I liked him, despite his 'annoyingest!'

I thought the adaptation was confusing and hard to keep up with. I would've thought it would be much better adapted because it is a pretty straight forward easy book, and the producer, Michael Bay seemed pretty enthusiastic. Lastly, 'Six' was amongst my favorite character, she was so bad ass with her accent! The way they showed her fighting was Increddibleee!

Dog Days Are Over!
27 September 2012
I thought Dog Days was a pretty good film. I was very impressed with Zachary Gordon's acting and the rest of the cast. There are some different aspects and genre the film concentrates on. It's a very nice little film that is funny and makes you laughing out loud around every corner.

I thought Dog Days was missing something, something to make it shine. It felt unfinished or rushed. I don't know how to explain it. It just felt... unfinished? I quite wished to enjoy it a little bit more than I did, but it's still a good film for everyone. I still think the first two are a little bit better than this one, but it doesn't let down anyways.

Hotel Transylvania: 7 Star Hotel.
20 September 2012
I thought this movie had a lot of potential and the trailer made it seem a lot better than what it was.

The movie itself was good, but the story was weak, the characters were extremely annoying and there were many paths the story could've took but didn't unfortunately.

My favorite part of the movie were the voices, they were brilliant! Adam Sandler did a great job as Dracula and everyone else in the cast were splendid. The special effects were my favorite. They were brilliant and executed well.

So my summary is that the movie is good, has it's funny moments, it's boring moments and it's ridiculous moments. It has great visuals, a weak story and sometimes VERY annoying characters. (especially Jonathan)

Wrath of One Titan
18 August 2012
I really wanted to like - and even loved this movie, because I love Greek Mythology and the whole cast. But unfortunately I didn't and came away unsatisfied.

My first problem I had with the movie were the fight scenes. They were awfully written. So poor. Please watch it and evaluate it yourselves. If you find no error, skip to the end fight. You expect it to be a phenomenal bomb-boozzul, but Percy just goes into Kronos' spine and evaporates things. Okay? Umm.

Secondly, like I said, I am a Greek Mythology geek! I really loved the casting and the portrayal of Zeus, Hades & Ares to be honest. That was good! But - I was appalled by the way they portrayed Hephaestus. I just couldn't imagine him being like that! And his lines were so clumsy and awful, which made it even worst for me to watch.

The Mythology involved was lacking a lot. They left out 85% of the Olympians and made them go cleaning Mt. Olympus or on a holiday in Hawaii or something. I couldn't, wouldn't, won't imagine Athena, Artemis, Apollo, or Hera (mainly) to go slip away and hide while the Titans return. I mean, Athena is the Goddess of War. She's Ares' counterpart and equal and obviously, he didn't shy away. The monsters that 'returned' was a Chimera who looked like a rag-doll and those weird fighting creatures that looked like they were from God of War. (Not a bad thing, but they were the only two.) The Minotaur doesn't count. It/He just came out of nowhere and died a minute later. Most randomest thing ever.

So, the movie lacked quite a lot. The only good things were the special effects! They were good. But it didn't add up at all. It was like the directors/writers and everyone else involved, wanted to create the movie for the sake of having special effects.

4/10. Someone needs to change the director/writer/screen-players/producers but keep the cast and the special-effect crew.

The Sapphires (2012)

Party with The Sapphires.
18 August 2012
I absolutely wanted to see this movie because of it being Australian & Jessica Mauboy stars in it!

It wasn't a let down. It's an absolutely brilliant story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I found the characters very likable and hate-able too. (But for good reason.)

The songs that were sung were brilliant and thank-god it wasn't just another High School Musical film... what? Why am I saying this? There isn't even any similarity.

The story itself was marvelous, although it felt a little rushed at times. The romance was also quite good. Very emotional scenes! The comedy was spot on 90% of the time and there were some of the funniest/corniest lines in movies I've seen ever! Also, to whoever said that they're just cheesie and the movie is a cliché: they should all go die. Because it wasn't clearly and people can't reinvent the English language and make up jokes that no one understands?

Lastly, the brilliant central Australian cast were beautiful and very talented. You should go see it. Everyone should go see it!

Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017)

Pretty Little Good Show
5 August 2012
Addicting & Very Enticing! It's one of those shows that bring you in with the first couples of episodes. The characters are very interesting and the acting is pretty good. Lots of clichés & some annoying/bad drama, but a lot of suspense, character development & thrilling scenes & story/plot-lines. One of my most favourite attributes of the show are the corny, yet funny and outrageous one-liners that make me crack up so hard and become even more obsessed with the show.

The show is absolutely addicting from the get-go and only drops out a bit towards the middle of Season 2 but quickly picks up with a very surprising, yet entertaining season finale.

Some of the side/back stories are boring and uncalled for, but others are completely enticing and makes you crave for more Pretty Little Liars! The show keeps you guessing, answers the questions but with more questions. It's a never-ending Roller Coaster ride with some small misses and big hits.

I'll give this a 9 star, only because I've criticized it a bit. (Which Was Traumatic For Me.) But, 10 for my overall obsession with the show and the complete awesomeness the show itself leaks.

Rosewood Will Never Leave You.

Dark Shadows: Overshadowed
11 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big fan of Burton, Depp, & Bonham. But this excuse for a movie was bad and fairly confusing. The acting was top notch, the cast was amazing & the effects were tremendous. But the story/plot was weak, the accent (I did not understand 25% of what they were saying) and the subtleness was just...awful. I didn't expect that much 'adult humor' considering that it was a PG - 13 movie. My brother had me answering tons of questions related to the 'sexy time' scenes (as he had called them).

Chloe Grace Moretz did a great job, but it was like she was trying to be a teenage prostitute or something. Her character was pretty lame. Helena Bonham Carter - like always - Oscar Worthy, but her character in the movie was a tad confusing. Her desire to become immortal because of beauty was a little bit eccentric and not believable. The only fairly good character was Michelle Pfeiffer as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. Her presence was a huge hit for me. It made me like the movie even more.

Anyways, the movie was alright at its best. If it wasn't for the last 20 minutes of the movie, I would've gave it a 3 stars.

Wow. What a triumph for the Australian Film Industry.
4 May 2012
Wow. What a triumph for the Australian Film Industry.

I had low expectations for this movie. I bought the DVD a while back and left it in the case for a good 2 months. But I decided to watch it. I wanted to read the book first but because of the expectations I had beforehand, it made me just watch it first and if it was good, read it later. And for a movie which was made in Australia, it definitely exceeded my expectations by a lot. The action/effects were one of the best I've seen in Australian Film Industry, considering that Australia isn't the one to spend big bucks on Movies. And to think that this was only $25 million was just wow! Lots of films in America spend a lot or too much for their production and usually come off as a cheesy or over- the-top film. But this was very different!

The characters were quite interesting although they are quite stereotypical and have traits which we've all seen in the past. The acting of Ellie (Caitlin Stasey) exceeded my expectations by a lot! Before watching this I had known a little bit that she was in the show 'Neighbours' and I've seen it a couple of times and it was cheesy and pretty dumb. Caitlin Stasey outdid herself in Tomorrow, When The War Began. Especially at her age. She pulled off a performance that many actors in Hollywood would struggle in. As for the other characters, I found that Fi (Phoebe Tonkins) not knowing what 2 Minutes Noodles was a bit ridiculous. I'm sure a rich-posh girl will at one point ate or at least heard of them before! Another interesting character was Howard. He was one of the stars of the film. Biggest character development throughout. As for the religious girl (my favorite, even though her traits are abit overused) I found her to be very likable and her acting to be pretty decent. (even though it would've not been that hard to play her.)

The movie itself was very frustrating at times. 1. Not knowing who the opposing army were. 2. Not knowing where the hell the Australian Army was and not knowing where the hell the U.S or the British army were. But other than that, it was a great movie. And I have made a decision that I will buy the whole series and read it. (After I read The Hobbit though) And one last thing....I CANT WAIT FOR THE SECOND FILM.

(Sorry, If there were any grammatical or spelling mistakes. I'm only 14)

Journey 2: Out of The Island
1 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, I'm going to be honest. This movie was okay. Visuals - 9 Acting - 8 Script - 6 Storyline - 4

I wanted to watch this film because of mainly - 'Vanessa Hudgens', 'Josh Hutcherson' and the Rock. All one of many favorite actors and actresses. I also went to see it because of the first movie. It was alright, not the best, but alright. And seeing this movie I didn't have much expectations. But when I came in, wow. The visuals were amazing! The characters were interesting (especially Vanessa). Although I though her dad was abit cliché and over-the-top. The movie has heart but when it comes down to the story, it was a no no. Who the hell goes to an island and then finds out it's going to sink in 2 days? Coincidence? I think not. And so the film-makers made a movie about a group of people going to a 'Mysterious Island' and then trying to escape. With a submarine... and when they say 'Atlantis' sinks every thousand years or so and the water starts crashing in, wouldn't the stone and buildings of Atlantis crumble and be demolished by the waves? And every other thousand years after it magically re-appears all nice and shiny again.

6.

Was fun, enjoyable and just at the right level.
11 December 2011
Okay for me, it was simple but perfection! Simple storyline, great animation, great characters! This movie is what Children Animation should be like! The movie was not bad and it also had a nice theme to it. The bad guys weren't to violent or vicious like other children animation. But if you think about it there were not really any bad guys at all. There were only a few violent moments (explosion of 'Eve') and I thought at one moment the older brother was going to do something bad but it kept to the innocence. Great movie for young kids and older viewers looking for a calm, fun night to enjoy! Great work to everyone who were involved.

Better than expected.
18 November 2011
Better than expected. The acting has improved and so has the intensity and the storyline. Was much expecting more action but it was fine. It was also great to see wolf telepathy and more dialogue and screening time from the wolf-pack and other cullens. the directing and pacing was alright, but it got a little bit boring and slow during the first half of the movie. There could've been much more execution from Jacob but all in all, it was a good try. Condon did a great work, much better than previous directions. I didn't expect much - but the movie did exceed my expectations - so 7/10. Will be expecting the 2nd installment. This is coming from a 13 year old.

Great, but..ehh.
2 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The movie was overall: great. The direction, cinematography & the special effects were brilliantly executed. The acting was good too. Hogwarts and the way the directors and screen writers had shown it was brilliant! But there were many let downs; the style of Yate's directing is simply "let's just get to the point." There were a few good and bad things. I'll name just a few:

Good: Neville was really good. Liked him. Gringotts was well directed. The acting was at a great standard. The battles were quite good, could be a little better. Costumes were brilliant McGonnagal's fight scene against Snape

Bad: They should have showed a few more memories of Snape. I was looking forward to Hermione, Luna and Ginny battling Bellatrix before Molly stepping it. They should have allowed a little more dialog; Bellatrix taunting Molly about the death of George. It was too vague and too fast. You would've missed Bellatrix spell hitting Ginny if you blinked at the wrong time. I was also expecting McGonnagal's, Slughorn's and Kingsley's battle with Voldemort. Hagrid hadn't showed any real emotion when Harry "died". There were no real strong interactions with the characters except the trio. Bellatrix, Luna, Lucius (and many more) was left out with their brilliant acting and weren't really shown much throughout the movie. They should have added little cameos of The Divination teacher enchanting the magical balls and throwing them at the Death Eaters, a few Hogmeades villagers fighting against Death Eaters, other creatures coming to help etc. Another disappointment was the death's of main/side characters. Fred's, Tonks and Lupins death was a disappointment. They just..."died". Nothing more, nothing less. They didn't even give us time to grieve or look back at anything.

Well overall, the movie was great. But, they could have added just 10 minutes to the movie to allow more emotions and depth to it.
