A breath of fresh air!
At the time of this review, I am currently in quarantine. I have watched many movies and many tv shows and I have enjoyed a lot of them! But, with the extra time off aimlessly looking for something that will interest me has been getting a little more difficult.
THIS SHOW GOT ME HOOKED AFTER THE FIRST EPISODE! It's fun, hilarious, and refreshingly original! I highly recommend this show!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
The Night is Darkest Just Before the Dawn. I promise you, the Dawn is Coming.
I went to an earlier screening of the Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice in theatres last thursday. I am a huge Batman, Superman fan, and I am also a person who loves his movies overall.
At first viewing (Because, I do wish to watch it again) is that the story is a bit of a narrative mess. It is not as linear of a story as to what I would like. But, overall I loved this movie! I have watched the original Dark Knight returns, and I must say that I love this version a lot more! the way they put their own twist on some of the plot lines of the original comic book movie blew me away!
The look and feel of the movie is dark, I think even darker then the Dark Knight trilogy, and it definitely worked for me! The way that the new Batman looked in his lair and his new suit also looked amazing! The music was energetic and fast paced during the best of times, made me feel like I did when I was watching Man of Steel! When the music was not so energetic was still appropriate during moments of seriousness. The big fight between our two protagonists was spectacular. They really gave it to each other in that fight! It was a real treat to watch it on the big screen!
Ben Affleck did an INCREDIBLE job both as Bruce Wayne, and Batman. Henry Cavill still SUPER as SUPERMAN ;), Gal Gadot killed it and was gorgeous as Wonderwoman! the only person who fell short unfortunately was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, unfortunately. I had high expectations of him because, all of his movies prior to this film have been great! I think he should of took it down a couple notches.
Overall, I think this is a great start to an upcoming swarm of other DC movies that are coming out, and I cannot wait! this movie made me want more if anything! Go check it out and skip the negative reviews.
Oldboy (2013)
I do not even see how this movie is bad...
Going into this movie, the first thing that the audience must understand is that you cannot relate this movie to the original Oldboy. it is a remake, but it does have subtle differences, but the overall movie has its own style.
I was pretty excited that they were going to make an Americanized version of Oldboy, I heard about it as it was just being pre-produced. I did have high expectations for this movie, and I was not disappointed.
Throughout this movie, I was at the edge of my seat. Hats off to Josh Brolin for playing the main character, he really did a great job. I hated his character in the beginning, but as the movie progressed, I really started to see the struggle that he was going through. Elizabeth Olson is really coming into her own as an actress, I am really excited what she has to bring to the table in the future. I thought she did a fantastic job in this movie, she is really goodlooking too. Sharlto Copley was an interesting choice as the main villain, he has a weird accent in this movie and it is kind of different compared to his other movies, but I like him as an actor overall and was okay in this movie.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand: The Greater Good (2012)
Spartacus is OFFICIALLY back!!
Now that I have seen the third episode to the newest instalment of Spartacus, I am deeply relieved that this show is once again restored to its former glory. The first few episodes I had to adjust to what was going on, including the new characters and of course the new Spartacus. But, now I can say with a very clear mind that Spartacus is OFFICIALLY back, and it definitely is coming back with a vengeance, which is a title well deserved.
At first, I was just like everyone else wondering what the new Spartacus had to offer. He definitely delivered in the first two episodes, but it was still hard to grasp that the recent Andy Whitfield has past (RIP) and has been replaced. But, as usual... The cast and crew of this amazing epic of a show did not disappoint in this weeks episode. May the gods favour all of them.
