Dune (2021)
Very slow and boring
Many characters aren't developed well enough or are miscast. Duncan Idaho has just as much screen time as the worms (and Momoa acts as if he's the main protagonist)...
Chalamet also feels fake most of the time and because of his "precious" attitude he doesn't look very credible in action scenes.
Frozen II (2019)
The story is very weak...
This movie is filled with songs all over the place because it has almost no story - same crap as Beauty and the beast 2.
Ong-bak 3 (2010)
Awful
When I watch Tony Jaa's movies I'm expecting for action, lots of action, it doesn't matter if the story is nonexistent... Well, here we have no story, and the action is nearly nonexistent too. If you saw the long trailer (5min) you saw 90% of it... Unbelievable but true... Basically there are 4 fights in the movie: one short at the beginning when he's chained, a second one where you see fighting the crow-guy, but you don't understand very much because it's too dark, a fight in the courtyard (basically what you see in the trailers) and finally the fight with the crow guy. The final fight, which should have been epic, is really disappointing because it is short, it has nothing spectacular, it lacks the flamboyant style of Tony Jaa and the other guy shows absolutely nothing.
Merantau (2009)
Average and disappointing
I saw many reviews comparing this film with The Bodyguard with Tony Jaa. While the main character and the story are similar, the actions scenes are hardly comparable. While the stories are both nonexistent, Tony Jaa's fights and stunts were like a revolution. Here you'll see nothing like that, the hero and the enemies lack of credibility and the fights are boring. I was expecting something special from a movie centering around silat, but I saw nothing but average fights lacking of originality. The hero isn't very convincing either (at the beginning he's beaten by 3 average joe while at the end he beats 20-30 guys) All that would pass easier if the ending wasn't as stupid and tragic.
Jin yi wei (2010)
Another Chinese tragedy
The film started rather promising, but it ended by being a fiasco. The characters and fights look like coming directly from a game like Final Fantasy - with fancy looks, supernatural powers and exotic weapons - but unfortunately out of time and place. While some fights are entertaining and Donnie Yen is good during the short display of kung fu, the most part of the fights consist in a display of CG scenes and wire fu. All that would have been a little entertaining movie to enjoy and forget at the end of the week, but it's culminating with another tragic ending in the purest Asian style (in the same vein of Tiger and Dragon, Hero, etc...)
Yip Man 2 (2010)
Much weaker than the first one
While the first Ip Man had really interesting and serious fights, this one doesn't even come close...
The most interesting fight is the one on the table, which is of the same level of the first fight in the first Ip man but with more wires. That tells all about the movie...
The final fight is disappointing and really ridiculous when you think about it - a boxer (using gloves) is nearly equal to a kung fu master using punches, kicks, etc who previously beat down alone 20-30guys... In other words, the final message would be - don't bother with martial arts since boxing and some muscle is all you need to beat most people.
