What a pointless movie. I really don't know why they did this, especially since we already had the far superior and far more faithful live-action Peter Pan movie that that came out in 2003. This was... just awful. Never mind all the eye-rolling and cringy identity politic nonsense they forced in it for no reason besides the filmmakers simply wanting it there, this was just a bad movie. It's boring and completely lacks any of the charm and fun of the original. I don't see how any kids will find this entertaining or even worthy of their attention.
And yeah, let's get to the whole point of completely centering the movie around Wendy. They really should have just named the movie after her. Pretty much the whole movie focused on her while Peter was reduced to a side character with barely any more relevance than Michael or John. I think they focused more on Hook than Peter. Speaking of which, that's pretty much what Peter's whole role had been reduced to, his whole relationship with Hook, and Wendy is there to steal all Peter's thunder and clean up his mess. That's pretty much the whole movie.
So, yeah, that's what you can expect if you decide to waste your time on this. It's dark, depressing, boring, and eye-rolling. Stick to the REAL Peter Pan movie, the one that came out 1953. But if you want a live-action of it, then watch the 2003 one, because there's no contest between that one and this pile of trash. I'm actually being generous to give it a 4/10.
