Fallen Leaves (2023)

The film focuses on the life of a man and a woman with substandard lives. I can't say that I found the acting very successful. I felt more like watching a theatre show than watching a cinema film. I have seen many Finnish films before, but I can't put this film in the top five. The film moves very slowly and there was nothing left when I finished watching it. In the background there is information about the war in Ukraine. It can be watched if you have free time. I cant say that I found the hospital scenes very convincing. In general, I think the film deserves 4 points out of 10. Easy to watch.

Waste of Time
6 March 2024
It was the most ridiculous reality programme I've ever watched in my life. In fact, I have to admit I couldn't watch the whole thing. I could only stand to watch three episodes. Even if you have free time, it's not worth wasting it on this show. A bunch of young people with their minds constantly on sexuality are trying to abstain from sexual acts in order to earn the money promised to them. But they are so "shallow" that their minds are always on getting someone into bed. For a moment I put myself in the shoes of the parents of these young people and I must confess that I felt ashamed for them.

The film was very disappointing for me. I can say it was the worst Indiana Jones film I've ever seen. It has a scenario based on too many coincidences. This makes the film unconvincing. Ford is too old to play in an action film. There are many parts of the film to criticise. What made me laugh the most was that Jones and Helena found Archimedes' grave, which no one had found for 2000 years, in two minutes and without any difficulty.

And then there are the "last minute" saves. There are so many "last minutes" in the film that it makes the viewing pleasure extremely unpleasant. I wish the Indiana Jones series had remained as it was and this film had not been made. I found 2.5 hours a waste of time. In one line Jones says "you are German and you cannot be funny". In another line he says "the spoils are for the winner". If you have extra time and if you think action is enough for me, you can watch it.

Good, but what a pitty......
29 October 2023
I just came out of the movie and I wanted to write a review right away. Unfortunately, the movie lasts 3.5 hours due to unnecessary lengthening. The costumes and set design were incredibly good. Di Caprio gave his best performance since "The Revenant". I can't say the same for Gladstone, he looked like a theater actor. De Niro is just De Niro. There were many continuity problems in the movie. In the scene where Ernest and Mollie first meet, she covers her ears because of the noise in the street. When the camera angle changes, we see that his ears are open. The camera angle changes again and the ears are closed again. A similar situation is present during Ernest and John's conversation in the street. As the camera angle changes, we see Di Capri's hand on and off his waist. And many more in the field. The movie shows how worthless the lives of others are when self-interest and money are involved. I would have liked Ernest, who says in the movie that he is a Catholic and believes in the Bible, to understand what "thou shalt not kill" means.

For the first time I watched a comedy movie with tears in my eyes, Al's desperation, Riley's sincere effort for Al, the whole family's struggle to help Hassina. I wish the screenwriters of this wonderful episode had the courage to address the real reasons for what is happening in Afghanistan with a few dialogues. I was deeply moved in a way I didn't expect. And for the first time this year I'm giving a production a 10. I ignore the timing mistakes, it's enough to touch your soul. Sometimes we can ignore things. Can't we ignore it? Tomorrow I'm going to sit down and watch this episode again. Thanks to everyone involved.

We witness the police investigation after a heinous rape case. The fact that the plot is based on a real event makes the series even more watchable. The exaggerated and unconvincing acting, which we see a lot in Indian cinema, is minimized here. But I still can't say there is none. Strangely, the cops switch from Hindi to English in their daily dialogues among themselves, families in their homes and students at school. In one scene, a police officer uses an old cell phone to capture the image on the police department's computer in higher quality. The series is a movie, watchable. But I found it strange that it was included in the top 250 list. My trust in IMDB is slowly starting to be shaken.

Probably Nuri Bilge Ceylan's movie with the most dialog. If you don't mind spending three and a half hours sitting, you will watch it with interest. The acting is incredibly successful. Deniz Cellioglu's acting as Samet is incredible. Merve Dizdar had already proven her success by winning the best actress award at the Cannes film festival for her acting in this movie. Centering on a handful of teachers in a snow-covered village in Anatolia, we watch an extraordinary story with a great script. Although the prolonged dialogues sometimes slow down the pace, I think you will enjoy the film in general. Especially the naturalness of the small actors in the student roles is magnificent. During Nuray and Samet's long conversation at the dinner table, there are inconsistencies in terms of continuity in the positions of the actors at different camera angles. Ceylan is already a master photographer. He reflected this mastery in his movie. I found his use of the camera very successful, especially in tight spaces. Some of the sentences interspersed between the dialogues still impress me. It will be very surprising if this movie is not among the best foreign film nominees for the Oscars. It was one of the two movies I saw this year that I can say I liked very much. I hope the majority feel the same way.

If you are prone to crying, I suggest you do not watch this movie. The movie tells the story of two brothers trying to survive after the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. The fact that the movie is an animated movie makes it even more impressive. Everyone already knows that Japan is the best country in the world for animation. The atomic bombs dropped on Japan were the biggest war crime against the civilian population in the history of the world war. The movie is based on this fact and deals with the issue from a humanitarian point of view without any agitation. I can say it was the best movie I have seen in a long time. If you still haven't seen it, I recommend you to put it on your watch list.

I couldn't get into this show. The homophobic behavior of Nick's friends seemed a bit too exaggerated. There were also scenes in this episode that lacked continuity. For example, the scene with Nick's conversation with his mom in the car. There were places where Nick's head angles did not match each other in different camera angles. The same mistakes were repeated in the scene where Tao was sitting on a park bench with his girlfriend. There was a continuity problem with the head angles. Does no one pay attention to this in post-production? I felt like I was watching theater, not a TV series. Especially the facial expressions were too exaggerated.

I am now absolutely sure of one thing: it is the youth vote that has put this TV show in 186th place. We are traveling around a very naive love story. But it's interesting that we don't see any of the young people having good or bad relationships with their parents. None of them have problems at school with their studies or with their teachers. If they do, we don't see it. Their only concerns are love, relationships and sexuality. Adding other issues to the script would have made the series more powerful. There were continuity problems in this episode as in the previous ones. The most obvious one was during Nick's conversation with his mom in the kitchen. In different camera angles, we witnessed different places where Nick's head was turned. I think I won't be able to warm up to this series of movies.

This series of films focuses on the Medici, one of the darkest and best known families in Italy's past. The first episode was above standard. We also saw what was actually at the forefront of the papal elections. This is already known. The costume and jewelry design is quite successful. I can say that the location design is also quite good. But the acting falls down from time to time. The dialogues contain too many clichés. In order to keep the audience's interest high, the dose of intrigue is emphasized too much. I found the arguments and fights in the parliament unconvincing. It was not bad for the first episode. We will watch it and see if it gets better or worse in the future.

Warning: Spoilers
Last episode we saw nick and charlie kissing. At the beginning of this episode we saw charlie's conflicted conversation with nick. That scene was a bit artificial. There was a problem with continuity again in this episode. In the scene with Nick's girlfriend who messed up his hair, we saw Nick's hair straightening itself from different camera angles. Nick wants to live his relationship with Charlie in secret. But he is not bothered at all by the fact that chalie comes and kisses him in the middle of the street on a rainy day. Honestly, I found 8.4 too much for this episode. The gifs interspersed in between are excellent. To be honest, I have no curiosity about how the TV show will progress.

After watching the first four episodes, I stopped watching for a long time. Or rather, I gave up watching. Maybe the short episodes were kept short so that the children wouldn't get bored. But I don't think it does much for an adult. And I can't believe that this episode got an 8.8. In total, this cartoon series is the 16th best series of all time. That's pretty amazing. It's not possible for this animated series to be sixteenth among all the productions that have been made with so much effort. Yes, it can be educational for children. It can be fun to spend six minutes trying not to drop a balloon. But does it really deserve to be the sixteenth production of all time? I think no.

I watched the drama movie with interest, I especially loved the director's successful cinematography. As the movie progresses in three different directions, an unexpected ending awaits you at the end. The costumes are exquisite. It reflects the atmosphere of the period perfectly. The actors have already proven their success. They impress again with their understated and exquisite acting. I can't say that I like Western style productions very much. I don't know if there will be a second season, but a lot of things were left unresolved in the finale. This can be interpreted as the second season will come. Whether there will be a second season or not, we watched a nice series of movies even in this state. Thanks to those who contributed.

When I read Philippe Beson's book, I really, really liked it, and when I sat down to watch the movie, I was just as excited, but when the movie ended and I stood up, all I felt was disappointment. The dialog was very shallow. Watching dialogues on the screen that you would never use in normal life and that you would never use in normal life cools you off from the movie. I wished the script had been faithful to the original book. The movie just couldn't pull me in. Maybe because you use your own imagination while reading the book. The movie did not give me the same excitement. The acting was not bad. But for the directorial success, I think it could have been better.

First of all, I'd like to say this. The script is really bad. The young actors need to improve their acting. Except for Yasmin Finney, their acting is below the line. The script feels rushed. The transfer of emotion to the audience (if such a thing was intended) is very weak. This episode I watched has a score of 8.8 but unfortunately I disagree. I've seen movies with much better acting, script and direction get much lower scores, which makes me think that it's mostly young people who are rating it. There were also a few timing mistakes. As the camera angle changed, there were different images from the previous scene. I guess I won't be able to watch this series. I apologize.

We all have events in our past that we wish we had never experienced. We avoid talking about them. It is difficult to admit mistakes. Sometimes we cannot look the other person in the eye when we make this confession. It is easier to turn away. But does that fix our mistakes? "Paris, Texas" will shake you to your core. As a director, I didn't see a great success. The script picks up towards the end of the movie. The acting is above standard. A more successful performance of the small actress could have made the movie more watchable. In this movie we watch the story of a man who misses his chance to have a "family". But we only "watch". I can't say that I could get into the movie.

I found the movie very disturbing. Oppenheimer is very enthusiastic about the development of the atomic bomb. It's obvious what can be done with this bomb. But it's not until much later that he realizes the horror of what he's doing. After he learns that children are dying! How convincing. I watched in horror as people applauded wildly when they learned about the devastation caused to the civilian population by the bombs dropped on Japan. I hope these images are just from an ordinary scenario. Murphy's acting is superb. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get nominated for an Oscar. I was horrified to watch this attack on the civilian population, which was not guilty of any crime in the history of the world, in the cinema. Not a movie for the summer months. I don't think it's Nolan's best movie either. But if you have an extra three hours, you can watch it.

No movie I've seen lately has made me feel this happy. I went to the theater thinking I was going to see an ordinary romantic comedy, but as I watched the movie I started to think about what popular culture has done to people. The costumes are exquisite. The location designs are incredible. Makeup and jewelry design is perfect. And the acting is so natural that it draws you into the movie. A movie for the summer months. You feel incredibly happy when you leave the movie and go home. You are in a fairy tale world but you are facing the harshest realities of the world. I thank everyone who contributed. I hope that the interest in the movie will not lead to a repeat of the mistakes that have been made many times before and a second Barbie movie will not be made.

Watchable
4 August 2023
In recent years, there have been a lot of films with homosexuality stories coming out of France. None of the ones I have seen stand out in a particular way. All the ones I've seen are similar. As for this movie, I can say that I liked it. The story is good. The acting is good. My only criticism is that the anatomical appearance of a paralyzed patient could have been portrayed with better acting. As a doctor, I can't say I was satisfied. I liked that the acting was understated. Even the actors in the background show good acting. There were some small parts in the script that were not believable. But the movie is really good and you can even overlook them. You can put it on your watch list.

Five star
3 August 2023
I have watched it with interest since the first season. I admit that I cried in many scenes. Especially in the first season there was something different. A naturalistic script that we don't see in most TV series and movies and "in its own way" acting without exaggeration. But in the following seasons, as in all TV shows that are unnecessarily prolonged, there was a shortage of topics. At times, we encountered repetitive scripts and lines, which decreased the viewing pleasure. One way or another, the Pearsons took their place in the history of TV shows. The final season seems like it was made to make the viewers cry. What was the need for that? Haven't we all cried enough for them already?

Best movie of belgium this year
3 August 2023
It was the best movie I have seen this year (so far). Especially the acting of the child actors is masterful. They are better than many adult and famous actors. The script is great. As the story progresses, you get tense at times, sad at others and watch the movie with a slight smile. It shows that big movies can be made with small budgets. Although the script stumbles at times, it recovers quickly. I had different expectations for the last scene of the movie. But the screenwriter and director chose an ending that most viewers will accept. If you haven't seen it yet, why are you waiting? You will be happy.

Watch this movie, right now!
3 August 2023
First of all, I would like to say that the script is particularly good and very strong. The acting is also above standard and very good. As the movie progresses, we see this. Actually nobody is clean. Everyone has a negative impact on the development of the story. I was especially mesmerized by the successful acting of the child actor. The only flaw is that the visuals could have been better. The fact that it was a low-budget movie affected the money allocated to cinematography. Directing indoors is difficult. But the director successfully overcame this challenge. If you want to watch a different movie, this movie will be a perfect alternative for you.

🤷‍♂️
30 July 2023
I'm afraid this time it's not as good as the first movie. In the first movie of the series the story was stronger. The visuals are better this time, which makes it more enjoyable to watch. But I think the story was better the first time. I couldn't watch the movie in 3D, but I can't say it met my expectations. It seems like it was continued because the first movie of the series was successful. I don't want it to be perceived as a negative comment for those who haven't seen the movie. What I'm trying to say is that James Cameron is a genius who does very good work. But I think this movie was made on the success of the first one. The fact that both movies end with the same scene seems to indicate that the third one will come.

Not strong enough
2 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Especially the first half hour of the movie contains pornographic images. Then we watch two homosexuals get closer to each other. The strange thing is that two young people who have known each other for an hour and don't know anything about each other, want to live together for a lifetime. One of the young people has HIV, but everything is fine with treatment. Brief information about PEP treatment compressed into a scenario. We learn that the young man who says he is not good with mathematics is a design engineer (?). And this young person doesn't understand what the 0.6% probability means. Another oddity is that a Syrian kebab shop is playing Turkish songs in his shop. I think it would be more realistic if the Syrian was listening to a song in their own language in the background. There aren't many films that shed light on the problems of homosexuals. So it can be appreciated. But I think it's a rushed movie. The scenario could have been stronger.
