Sensations of 1945 (1944)
Packed with Entertainment
You'd be hard pressed to find another film with the number and variety of acts that Sensations of 1945 has. Eleanor Powell is amazing as always. In addition to her more conventional numbers, she's a pinball and even dances with a horse! The circus acts are wonderful and fast paced. Pianist Dorothy Donegan steals the show with her performance during Cab Calloway's appearance. The storyline, as usual, takes second billing to all of the acts, however it does loosely ties things together. Definitely a must see for everyone.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Clues (1991)
Creativity is alive and well.
Pay attention to this one. Very creative plot twists. A thinking fan's episode. Reminded me of "The Sting".
Fire Maidens from Outer Space (1956)
A Cult Classic
So bad that it's good. A must see.
I could've written the screenplay, when I was 12 years old.
Lots of walking. Some dancing. Looks like they kept filming during smoking breaks.
So many issues with storyline errors that it's impossible to list them all.
The creature needed some character development. Not sure how I'm supposed to feel about it. Revulsion? Sympathy?
I don't know how the cost of film was ever justified.
The director and the film editor more than likely never worked in film again, possibly going back to their old careers selling shoes.
Star Trek: The Trouble with Tribbles (1967)
Most iconic episode to an original watcher.
Ask anyone my age about TOS and this episode will always be mentioned as a favorite.
I was 12 years old when it first aired. My brother and I had to leave the family room and its color TV to the rest of the family in order to watch TOS on an old b&w set in our bedroom.
When episodes like this were first aired there was no critical dissection by the the viewers. We watched it, were entertained or not, talked about it with our friends and didn't really know if we'd see it again. It was a different era.
This is by far the most memorable episode from the time of its original airing.
The Twilight Zone: The Midnight Sun (1961)
It's Hot in Here!
You can feel the heat just watching this. And Lois Nettleton, sweaty, barefoot and in a slip, is very memorable.
