Enter the Void (2009)
Impressive
What can I say, the film is definitely impressive. The picture is beautiful and trippy at the same time. The idea is also very interesting.
As its length is 2 hours 41 minutes, I watched it in several approaches. So, the impression is a little mixed, so that you understand - after the breaks it was difficult to get ready to sit down and continue watching the movie, but in the process of watching everything was really captivating.
In short, not that I recommend watching it (everything is very individual), but if you decide to watch it, believe me, it will definitely be an interesting and unforgettable experience!
Zaboronenyy (2019)
Thank you, Vasyl!
Despite the good picture and acting the beginning of the movie seemed too artificial to me and I even was thinking to stop watching it. However, with full respect to Vasyl Stus's story, I made myself to watch it till the end and now I'm glad of spending my time seeing this picture. From one side it depicts the real face of the rotten Soviet system that was ruling in Ukraine. From another side, the movie shows us the strength of Stus spirit and the whole devotion of the master to his ideas full of faith in freedom and humanity.
Thanks to the authors for making the movie on such an important topic.
Buddha's Little Finger (2015)
Weak
I had read Chapayev and Void in the original a few years ago and it's one of my favorite books so far. I was really excited to start watching this movie. However, all I can say after it is that the Buddha's Little Finger is truly weak attempt to depict all the depth of the novel's gist and interestingness of the narrative move.
If we put the content of the Pelevin's novel aside and try to evaluate the movie plot as the independent story, it still remains infirm. All you can find there is simplified scenes content and dim relation between presented parts of the story.
2/10. Period.
