The Bubble (2022)
Totally unfunny.
I didn't get to the end of this movie. It's excruciatingly bad to a point of being painful. I've had more pleasant times having my balls waxed.
Avoid this at all costs.
Kingdoms in Time (2018)
Thought provoking!
This gave me a lot to smile about. I love the historical references and the presenter's enthusiastic narration.
We need this in our world today.
SAS: Red Notice (2021)
Amateur is too kind for this movie
Someone thought, let's do Die Hard in the Eurotunnel but include the SAS.
Unfortunately, the budget is that of a cheap TV station or that it got blown on some of the big name actors without thought of the script and screenplay.
It could have been so good.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Shows just how the DCEU can surpass MCU
This is an epic film on all levels and matches, if not exceeds Avengers Infinity War.
It's literally a different movie to the original theatrical version. I can't understand how Whedon could make such a terrible and boorish movie out of what he had to work with except that he went out of his way to sabotage it.
A must watch for this year.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Loved it
Okay so it's not as feral as the first movie, but you know what? Eddie Murphy has created an absolute pearl of a sequel that takes the innocent fun of the first movie and allows a modern slant.
Laughed out loud watching this. Forget the modernised naysayers who just don't get it.
A-X-L (2018)
Short-circuit meets Karate Kid meets Red Bull Sponsorship
You know what, I came home from work looking for something where I can decompress my head and I came across this by accident.
I didn't know anything about it but thought I'd give it a go. Okay so it's not a perfectly executed movie and there are tropes upon tropes upon tropes. So what?
I took this movie at face-value knowing that it wasn't going to be thought-provoking and I found it fun and perfectly fine for what I was expecting.
To all the negative critics, don't always have to be educated or given a woke moral compass in everything we watch, you know!
Outside the Wire (2021)
If you have absolutely nothing else to watch then maybe consider this
I really don't get it. Netflix throws thousands into movie production (and increases our subscription fees as a result!) Bringing in big names such as MCU's Anthony Mackie but the film is just dull. You don't connect with any of the characters, the script is worse than a Boris Johnson COVID update and the screenplay just leaves you empty.
If you're an absolute aficionado of war movies with a little bit of Chappie thrown in then you may just enjoy it. I got to 40 minutes left in the movie and started to consider to switch it off.
Tell you what Netflix, instead of just trying to click air people with big Hollywood names why not invest in decent scriptwriters and directors?
Boring.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Charlie's Angels with an asbo but not the substance
Awful! Just awful! Margot Robbie was excellent in Justice League but in BoP she is shallow and obnoxious. The director has ruined her character.
There is absolutely nothing memorable in this movie. The best scene are the end credits when you can leave.
Hellboy (2019)
The only good thing about this is the soundtrack
Skip to finding it on Spotify. The movie itself is atrocious.
Peppermint (2018)
The #MeToo Man on Fire
Do I need to say any more?
Except that it's highly formulaic, predictable and plods along revenge clichés by the dozen.
The only remotely redeeming factor is Jennifer Garner who carries this movie like a hundredweight to the end.
Blandly entertaining but don't expect to be blown away.
Close (2019)
The best thing about this movie is the music in the opening credits
Listen to the brilliant cover of Placebo's Running Up That Hill then go watch something else.
Did the film makers actually consult with a CP specialist for this movie?
More holes than Swiss cheese.
