The Fun Park (2007)
Not so fun!
Well, let me start out by saying that I didn't really think this would be any good, but it was only $ 9 and so I bought it since it costs half that to rent it.
The story is extremely, painfully, exaggeratedly slow... slow, did I mention it's slow? They tried too hard with the story telling and the angle they took going back and forth from the shrink to the actual story was horrible.
Only redeeming quality this film has is the two lead women, Megan & the shrink, are really good in their roles.
If you want a fun park movie, get Dark Ride or Funhouse... they are a lot more entertaining.
Rachel's Attic (2002)
Not that great
I rented this movie on DVD. I knew that the movie wouldn't live up to what it promised me on the back of the case, but once I saw that Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen) was in it, I had to rent it. It starts off pretty good, with the premise being that snuff films are being aired over cable. However, the main character has nothing about her to make you feel sorry for her whatsoever, and the end of the movie really leaves you hanging. There are way too many unanswered questions. There was a great scene at the end that totally took me by surprise, but overall this is a very sub par movie, but I guess it was worth the $ 3.99 rental fee.
Creepshow (1982)
Take this for what it is, and it is excellent
Many Stephen King fans are accustomed to being disappointed in the films based off of his novels, so it is refreshing to see a film that he wrote that is entertaining. NO, this is NOT a scary horror movie, but it is for horror fans and is very enjoyable. The Crate actually is a very good story, Adrienne Barbeau is so awesome...aww that nagging voice...anyway.... this is a very tongue in cheek type movie, and Stephen King did NOT have bad acting (in my humble opinion), he just did as he always has, made a cameo in a movie he wrote. And now I recommend that after you watch this, you put in Creepshow 2, and pay extra attention to The Raft, and The Hitchhiker......ooooooohhhhh soooooo goood.......... DON'T TAKE THIS STUFF TOO SERIOUSLY FOLKS
3/5 stars
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
This is the Freddy & Jason movie I've been waiting 15 years for. *May have spoilers*
In the opening scene of the movie, I knew this movie was worth the wait. Back to the 80's style slasher films, this brought Freddy back to his old glory, and Jason just kicked some major ass. Don't get me wrong, this isn't one of the best horror movies ever made, certainly not better than the original Elm Street or Friday the 13th (part IV is my personal favorite), but Freddy & Jason both got so cheesed out over the years that it was awesome to be a little creeped out by them again. Freddy actually looked evil!!! The only disappointment I have is that I read an interview with the director, and he said there would be a clear cut winner, but there was not. Definitely take the time to go see this one at the theater.
Finding Nemo (2003)
One of the best children's movie in a long time...
Finding Nemo has some of the best lessons to be learned. It was maybe a little more personal to me because I have a close relative (child) with a handicap similar to Nemo's. It has the tragedy (almost as heartwrenching as The Lion King), but it is a sweet, wonderful story about learning how to let go and how to understand and accept other people for who they are.
