The Oath (2018)
Agree with Zanty - Shaky camera movies are an artsy brain fart
The shaky camera "effect" distract from my ability to suspend disbelief and mentally move into the movie experience. I'm so constantly aware of the shaky camera that I it keeps reminding me that I'm watching a poorly edited movie and not actually experiencing palsy.
You Me Her (2016)
Majority of Positive reviews appear to be planted
It is dishonest for people who are affiliated with a film/production, and/or derive financial gain from it, to give glowing reviews; but such appears to be the case here. All but one of the positive reviews of this show were done by people who have reviewed nothing else on IMDb, and appear to have signed up specifically to give this review: a fairly good indicator that they are from people (or a single person with multiple email accounts) who is affiliated in some way with the production.
On the other hand, the reviewers who scored this crap low, have a long history on IMDb with several reviews.
I suppose that there is no way to keep production staff from impersonating honest reviewers; but IMDb readers should be suspicious. As for me, I couldn't even finish the first episode. The story line is tired, the writing is boring, and I found nothing in this "comedy" that evoked even a smile.
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Watch Cecil B DeMills' epic "The 10 Commandments" again, instead.
A good movie allows viewers to suspend disbelief and view the world from a new vantage point. A great movie draws the viewer in and compels him to viscerally participate in the unfolding drama on the screen.
This film does neither.
In fact, it appears to have been framed by the writers/directors to intentionally and repeatedly remind the viewers that they were sitting in a theater, watching a sophomoric parody of well-known story, with grotesque caricatures of well-known historical figures.
Rather than watch this thinly veiled attempt to deny the divine, you would be better off watching or re-watching the "Great Movie" and epic production directed by Cecil B. DeMills.
