Megaconda (2010)
It's true - b-grade quality crap right here
As for the professional review, this mirrors what's already been said. With particular focus on how bad the CGI 'Megaconda' was, unless you genuinely are in a charitable mood - this is a supremely bad movie ! With the exception of a few staff who have been 'around the block' a few times over the years through different roles, ...the acting is questionable at best...plot, I'll leave that to you... and movies that have little to no dialogue at the end to sum seem to top off a bad way of spending 1 1/2 hours of your life.
Watch for a laugh, watch to cringe, watch for whatever you want! Up to you!
6 Guns (2010)
'No chitty chitty - plenty of BANG BANG!'
Being a fan of the Van Dyke clan, it's nice to see the family branch more into the land of Hollywood, even if it is the brown carpet replacing the red.
From some of the reviews I've read of Mr Shane Van Dyke's work from his alternate pictures, this film seems to be a solid entry to add to his resume list - and don't just take my word for it!
Selina Stevens is the subject and last woman standing of a family that is murdered by gunslingers who've come back to the town of Bisbee for one purpose and one purpose only - revenge! Lee Horn is the man leading the clan and portrays one who has the desire to achieve this murderous goal with suitable backup from four of his not so pleasant henchmen - two of which make up a part of the mainstream family name.
After witnessing the destruction of her peaceful family life and continuing the next few months in a drunken stupor, Selina then comes across bounty hunter Frank Allison, the man on constant cleanup duty travelling from town to town, who happens to be on the scene to try and find men who are wanted by the law.
Selina asks Frank to teach her how to shoot, with the underlying goal of - yes, you guessed it ...seeking revenge of her own nature through killing Horn and his evil clan. After initially resisting, Frank relents and teaches Selena how to handle a weapon, shoot the weapon and hide behind cover whilst shooting a weapon. A few skills an innocent lady needs to protect herself from bandits in the west.
There's more but you have the general jist if you've seen one or two westerns over the years - and it would be rude to spoil it for you.
With the exception of questionable score entries every so often, a suitable B-movie entry that keeps you entertained for the right amount of time required and one that's become surprisingly enjoyable to my movie list.
Keep it up team Van Dyke !
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse (1994)
We, are ...FAMILY!
I believe this episode is what cemented Will Smith as the founder of his own career. Being a believer of love and family (and more of an Uncle Phil figure than I'd like to admit,) this episode stands out from the rest and in its own way too.
Mr Smith sets up the finale and his performance based on experiences that his friends had and even now I can't imagine anything as tough as that. Having a father figure in your life is something that as much as you might have disliked - or even hated in your life - you'd appreciate as a maaaaan! And boi, the audience appreciate that as it's being delivered through this series.
I commend you Will Smith. And I commend you series producers for showing that such a series that shows comedy, can ask show the REAL meaning of family alongside it.
10/10 from me - and from everybody else too!
