Nothing more than a SciFi Soap
28 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the entire show in two days. Expecting a GOT like masterpiece I saw nothing anywhere near SciFi in this attempt. The coolest scenes were limited to the headset worlds. Why did the storyline move away from the alien interface? Clearly the best character, Jack, is killed off and for what? I am disappointed and frankly disgusted with this entire show.

I will give props to the production design and cinematography. I know nothing about the source material and what lies ahead but it'll take a lot of hype for me to spend another eight hours of my time watching Season 2. Hopefully it'll be ScFi and not Soap Opera.

An authentic look at the 70's.
24 March 2023
I would have to say that all of the negative reviews dated before March 24, 2023 are proof that those people couldn't wait to rip a remarkable series before knowing its conclusion. I do understand society's general impatience and willingness to find fault with most everything. How can any reviewer be taken seriously before knowing the conclusion of the film.

Growing up in the 70's I felt this series was an authentic look back to one of the best times in rock history. Those of us who were lucky enough to buy vinyl, attend concerts, and listen to FM yearns for those days. We all know those days will never return, but shows like Daisy Jones and The Six can remind us of how lucky we really were.

REALLY???
30 January 2023
I can't believe what I just watched. "You People" is justly titled. Where do YOU PEOPLE (Executive Producers) get off with this unfunny racist attempt aimed at US PEOPLE looking for a film that might have something REAL to say about racism in OUR "culture." Wow you guys failed miserably! Without question you added to the problem by constantly using the "N" word throughout the movie. How does that serve the overall attempted message? It doesn't In today's society and there is no excuse for ANYONE to use the word in any circumstances - ESPECIALLY in a movie. I watched the entire show and found it appalling!

Twilight Zone 2022
8 July 2022
Severance could've easily originated from an episode of the Outer Limits or the Twilight Zone. Stiller is becoming one of our best directors and producers. Great acting and stunning cinematography highlights a wild 9 episode ride.

True to Life in Death
28 February 2022
My son passed away suddenly last year in January. He was 30 years old. The indescribable sorrow and grief that we have endured came back as we finished this great show. There is no worse thing in life than losing your child.

Emotional words of grief
3 February 2022
The opening dialog of this episode will move anyone who has experienced a sudden death of a loved one. Unbelievable writing. Disregard the negative reviews - I feel this is the best episode to date.

Simply awful
31 January 2022
Couldn't finish Episode 1. Really bad in all aspects. How can anyone expect to believe the first fight sequence and then go on from there? There's just too much good stuff out there to watch.

Historical Fiction - Modern Day Warning
24 January 2022
This film simply suggests that intervention at the highest level can change history. If not, dire consequences can result. Excellent writing and a warning to altruistic.

If you think Dico Sucks - WATCH THIS NOW!
24 December 2020
I admit, I'm a rocker through and through. However, after watching this incredible documentary I have a much greater respect for The Bee Gees music and their incredible story. Credit is highly deserved to the filmmakers and their masterful editing of the best material available. This story had to be told because of pigheaded people like me.

No Need for Slaughter
11 December 2020
As common as hog slaughter is there's no real reason to show the barbaric details here. Real or not it's repulsive and it's inclusion for shock value was unneeded.

True Art
10 December 2020
Knowing ahead of watching that the dialog was totally unscripted and improvised I found myself appreciating the true art form by the actors. Knowing how petrified they all were during the shoot, it's never apparent from their seamless performances. They were all given a frame to stay in and also an ending to each scene. The rest is them and their own words and reactions. Shot in only 8 days, the film is a triumph of modern day filmmaking. My only criticism was the ambient lighting was at times distracting.

Escape to the island paradise of Corfu
8 December 2020
I'm not much for reviews but this series is astonishing. It's truly an escape to hilarity, family, and an island paradise. Be prepared to be quickly embraced by this true story set on the Greek Island of Corfu. An English widow, and her family of four try to fit in with the locals using only their ingenuity to make ends meet. I must say it's one of my favorite series of all time.

Gillian is awesome
19 November 2020
Gillian Anderson's role as Margaret Thatcher is truly as awesome performance as any I've ever seen. You are absolutely transported into every scene she is in. Thoroughly award winning acting. Not to be missed.

MASTERPIECE IN EVERY ASPECT
27 October 2020
The Queen's Gambit is simply a masterpiece in every aspect of filmmaking. Absolute brilliant acting, direction, editing, production design, costuming, makeup/hair design, cinematography, and a killer soundtrack. It's an unforgettable series in a time of high expectations from all of us. As I write this the IMDB rating is 8.9 from nearly 10,000 reviewers. How can that many of us be wrong?

Great Ensemble Comedy
26 October 2020
If you're looking for something truly funny and light Red Oaks is it. It's a late 80's summer job at the club comedy with many truly hilarious moments. And as a typical male, the character Misty, ( played by Alexandra Turshen) is eye candy every time she's on screen. In addition Jennifer Grey and Gina Gershon are as beautiful as ever. Craig Roberts as the lead and Oliver Cooper as his accomplice are spot on as the Red Oaks dynamic duo. Not to mention Paul Reiser and Richard Kind add considerable Acting professionalism to this great comedy.

Brilliant Movie
20 October 2020
I saw Sorkin's Broadway adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird in June of 2019. That brilliance appears again in The Trial Of The Chicago 7. If you're trying to decide whether to watch this movie or not, your politics will answer the question for you. It's a great watch of the fight for justice and truth 50 years ago. And it's a commentary of how those evil forces are still grasping for our freedoms.

Trump is President - Blame Clinton NOT Comey
28 September 2020
After only seeing the first half of this show it is apparent that James Comey was put in a no-win situation. Clearly blame lies with Hillary Clinton NOT James Comey. If she would have just followed simple email security protocol, she'd be President right now. As is stated in the show, her arrogance was her downfall. And as a result this country has suffered the last four years to the point of our democracy collapsing. Thanks Hillary.

Well done Mr Reynolds
17 June 2020
This film is a surprising and delightful retrospect of Burt's magical love affair with American film. His very last smile at the conclusion is undoubtedly Burt's own farewell to all of us.

EPIC MASTERPIECE
9 May 2020
A BEAUTIFUL film in every sense of the word. The brutality of war is matched by the wit and wisdom of a 12 year old boy. Do not hesitate to emerge yourself in this Spielberg epic masterpiece.

Awful

Not sure what positive review people are seeing here. Watched the first three episodes. Just a slow difficult watch with no direction. Couldn't go any further. There's so many better productions available to choose from. Rare stinker from HBO!

A very entertaining film. The time travel aspect is fun but the family oriented story line is what shines here. Definitely a feel good movie.

Don't Buy The Negatives
13 December 2019
This show has been produced with great authenticity and care. The moon footage is spectacular. I have to believe that some old pros from NASA's Apollo program had much to do with all aspects of the technical realism. The story builds as the episodes progress to a big cliff hanger at the conclusion of episode 9. I highly recommend this for any space enthusiasts looking for a journey into a past of what-if.

Some really funny moments but too much (serious) scripted stuff. The poopy pants and the hill scenes were hilarious.
