Der Greif (2023)
Great, fun show
The Gryphon is an exciting show that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The story is interesting and the show has a cool 90s fantasy movie vibe to it. The soundtrack is really good and there's some great classic songs that play throughout the show. I liked all the characters, Memo I'd say is my favorite with Becky a close second. There was good chemistry between the characters and it was a good experience watching them work together. I look forward to what this show may bring in the future in the next season. The first season is only 6 episodes, I wish it had 8, because it felt a little short.
Willow (2022)
An insult to the movie
Saying I'm very disappointed would be an understatement, this series is an insult to the original movie. The original Willow is a great movie, adventures, fun to watch and a good mix of silliness to give one a good chuckle and very quotable dialogue.
This sequel series is none of that and other than being an unfunny terrible sequel, it's also terribly written. A lame Fantasty cookie cutter with lazy writing and cringe dialogue that takes itself too serious. It's almost like they took a 14 year olds cringe Fantasty novel that was heavily inspired by LOTR turned it into a series.
To add a couple of other issues or things they could have done better: where's the comic relief? This imo is probably what hurt the show the most, the lack of a comic relief. They tried to add a couple of "jokes" all which were badly executed and were so very underwhelming and cringe.
Lastly, I want to talk about the poor choice of music for the closing credits. Why? Neither of the songs of both episodes that have been released so far were fitting and just didn't match the overall vibe of the show. It just comes to show how terrible this series was produced.
Pinocchio (2022)
A reboot faithful to the original
Pinocchio 2022 was a fun watch and they did well keeping it close to the original. There were a few changes, some additions not in the original and a couple of things taken out. For example; the removed all the smoking scene, so there wasn't any smoke rings that get eaten like a donut unfortunately and the ale the kids drank in the original was changed to Root Beer, but these changes make sense for today's world. Anyways, a fun watch and great for the nostalgia.
Definitely worth watching, and you can't go wrong with having Tom Hanks starring in it as Geppetto. The musical pieces were marvelous, they did a very fine job on the music. It was exciting to see Pinocchio sing "There are No Strings on Me" and to experience it in live action/CGI.
Native Son (2019)
Not the movie I thought it would be
To make things clear, I've never read the book nor did I even know this book existed until after the movie. This movie attracted me when I saw the cover, Bigger wearing a Punk Rock leather jacket, me being in the punk scene got really excited that I found a new movie about a Punk rocker.
The movie started out great, I loved the characters, I felt look I could relate to him, this movie felt pretty awesome. Then things got uncomfortable, if you seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. What??? I was yelling at the TV (I never yell nor talk to the TV), this movie made me yell at the TV. At first I was feeling for him, I understood he was in an awkward position and didn't want to be fired from his job, but man, what happened afterwards, wtf??? The rest of the movie I was uncomfortable, yet, I couldn't stop watching.
Anyways, definitely not the movie I expected turn out to be. At first he was rocking out to Minor Threat and Dead Kennedys. I was hoping it would stay as a movie about a guy and his every day struggle because people just assumed his life when he wasn't the type of person to fit the stereotype of the modern black guy and then progress from there, but oh no it wasn't. It was a big bag of something else.
Screw it, I'm making my own movie that matches more of something that I wanted this so badly to be.
The Last Airbender (2010)
M. Night Shyamalan must have NEVER seen the series.
I am a BIG fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I was excited to watching, and I understood that they're not going to be able to fit everything in one little movie, but this, this movie was an embarrassment. There were so many IMPORTANT parts missing, heck, the Firebenders didn't rely on the sun to do there bending in this movie, which is incorrect, and I don't see how they will be able to make the third one because of this problem, because Firebenders rely on the sun in the original series. Worst of all is that the character's personalities were all missing, in the series I feel in love with the character because of there personalities, but these characters from the movie where nothing like original, I especially missed Sokka's goofy personality, in this movie he was 100% serious and not goofy one bit, it wasn't even Sakka at all, he was pretty much the opposite, and every character's personality was just wrong. And last, so many names were pronounced wrong. Aang was pronounced wrong, and I'm pretty sure Sokka's was too, and just a view others, but Aang's was the most annoying one because of how often it was said. I did not like this movie at all, the only thing I found impressive is the special effect which I can care less about. I do not plan on watching the other ones. I will stick with the cartoon, because that one is 100% full of awesome and probably one of the BEST shows ever made. It is obvious to me that M. Night Shyamalan must have never seen the cartoon series, because if he had, I'm sure he would have not screwed this movie up so badly.
Zeiten ändern Dich (2010)
This movie deserves more then what people give it.
There are a lot of people that are just giving bad reviews of this movie, I honestly think that they do not know what they are talking about and are just jerks. I love this movie, it has a really great message at the end. Bushido's acting wasn't all that bad, people keep saying how terrible of an actor he was in this film, but he wasn't, he did an alright job, and it shouldn't really matter because he's a rapper, not a big time actor, he wasn't any worse then Eminem in 8-Mile, and everybody is saying how great that movie was. I would definitely recommend watching this movie, it'll be a need experience to see the life of a German Rapper, who is actually one of my favorite rappers in Germany. If you live in the United States I know it's hard to find this movie, but there are ways, but I can't promise you English subtitles for it is not Dubbed, so hopefully you'll know a little German so you can understand, and even if you can't, you can still tell what is going on in the movie just by watching it.
