The Bat (1959)
The Bat
This movie is your typical mystery movie, with suspense and horror in it. "The Bat"
has great actors, including Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead,
who are just excellent at their roles, and really bring the sense of horror to the
film, which it what the audience is looking
for. The movie has a great mystery plot , but also a lot of suspenseful scenes.
This is a great film, i recommend it, if
you like scary movies!
My World Dies Screaming (1958)
Terror in the Haunted House
SOO SPOOKY!!! "Terror in the Haunted House" is a really great movie! that i highly recommend! It has great acting, good special effects, and is scary(at times) but also has a funny twist to it. At times there were flashing funny cartoon
faces that would pop out
during some of the scary, suspenseful scenes, but they were out of place
and didn't really go with the plot of the story. Besides that, Cathy O'Donnell was excellent in the film! I think that this movie and "The Best Years of Our Lives" were her two
best films. If you want a thrill but also want to laugh, then I recommend this movie!
Bride of the Gorilla (1951)
Bride of the Gorilla
For being such an old movie, "Bride of the Gorilla" has good special effects that help make great scenes! In the film the jungle looks like a real, large, and living jungle, which really makes the movie.
After watching this movie i really understood the "magic" of the jungle and how staying out there can make people go crazy! The beautiful Barbara Payton did a terrific job
with her character, and the love she shows for her husband, even though
he turns crazy, is the typical 1950's "love" relationship. This movie is
good, but sad in the end. It's a definite MUST SEE!
House on Haunted Hill (1959)
House on Haunted Hill
House on Haunted Hill is one of those old "scary" horror movies. If your into the game board "clue," then you will definitely love this film. It is about a group of people who try to find out who the killer in the group is.I really liked the plot of the story and the actors in the film, especially Elisha Cook Jr. who played Watson Pritchard. Watson starts the film off, and he never takes that "creeped put" look of his face throughout the whole film, which really helps bring the horror to the viewers. The only thing I thought didn't fit in with the movie were the ghosts, I think that they could have been a bit more scary and threatening to the actors. Overall, this movie is a great black and white scary film, and it's a must see!!
The Giant Spider Invasion (1975)
Giant Spider Invasion (1975)
If you're into insects, especially spiders(really big spiders) then
"Giant Spider Invasion" is just the film for you! It is one of those
old science fiction films that has a lot of creeping... crawling... and
crushing! I like this film because it gives you that fear of insects
crawling around you, and makes you look around the room to make sure no
spiders are there! It does a really good job and making everything so
realistic, especially the huge spider! The only bad part of the film
was that in some section audio is off with the voices, but just by a
bit. The special effects and selection of actors are perfect for the
movie! if you like spiders, science, and large insects attacking
people, then watch this film... you'll LOVE IT!
