Fun movie
12 September 2018
I enjoyed this movie, it made me laugh and that is exactly what I was looking to do. It seemed like the plot was going to be predictable but then it turned out differently than I expected so I liked that aspect also. It left you with a "feel good" feeling and a smile. Not to mention the scenery was beautiful.

I am sure I will watch it again whenever I need a good laugh with good story.

Strong reaction

I had never heard of this movie but saw it on Netflix and it looked interesting so I gave it a try. Wow, I was hooked, such powerful acting by Josh Lucas, Jon Hamm and James Van Der Beek. I haven't read all the reviews here so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but the makeup department definitely deserves praise for the job they did with the age makeup.

The story really caught my attention, I loved how it was intertwined between the past and the present and I really enjoyed the final confrontation.

I really would recommend this movie, you won't be disappointed.

Very interesting show
1 July 2006
I agree that this show wasn't given enough time to catch on. I never found out about it until years later so it must have come and gone very fast. I really wish it had been around longer because I found it to be a very interesting show.

Hal Linden was great playing the lead role of the debonair Alexander Blacke and I don't think anyone else could have played that role the way he did. The same goes for Harry Morgan in the role of Leonard Blacke, Alex's father.

I loved these episodes and how each one Blacke used his powers of observation and experience from years of being a magician/illusionist to solve a crime. I also thought the magic he performed in the episodes was fun to watch.

Like Murder, She Wrote you also got to see a lot of great guest stars, people who you might not have seen for a while since they weren't on TV each week anymore. A lot of faces from the past as well as people who were just starting out.

This was definitely a fun show that cut short before its time.

S.W.A.T. (1975–1976)
Still a great show
8 September 2003
S.W.A.T. was my favorite show that came out of the 70's and I still enjoy it as much today as I did back then since it was shown on TVLand for a month and now the first season has been released on DVD. I read all these reviews saying that the show doesn't transcend to today but I think that is totally wrong. My teenage boys think the show is as cool as I did back in the 70's, I have yet to sit down and watch an episode without one of them coming in to watch with me. I only hope that the second season is also released on DVD because there are episodes in the second season that I haven't seen since the show originally aired.

I only had a few complaints with the show, one is that they would change details from one season to the next without explanation, such as in the first season TJ was engaged but in the second he was out dating again. That seemed to happen a lot on shows in the 70's.

My major complaint with the show was that it seemed to focus mainly on the character of Hondo. Each episode seemed to make him out to be the hero, instead of ever letting one of the other members of the team get any glory.

All in all I think this was a great tv show that never got the praise it deserved.

Nothing like the TV show
9 August 2003
I would not recommend this movie for people like me who were big fans of the tv show S.W.A.T. because it totally disgraces the show. I find it hard to believe that the writer was a fan of the series because he changed all the characters personalities and left the character of Dominic Luca out of the movie entirely. There is no resemblance at all to the tv show that this movie was based on.

However once I got past that fact then I really enjoyed the movie. I never found it to be lacking and it kept my interest throughout the whole movie. It was very interesting to see how the team was put together and what they had to go through to become a team. Once they were on the main assignment it was nice to see them work as a team and to have the good guys win.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who just wants to see a good, fun, action packed movie.
