"Remember remember, the 5th of November." Interesting words to ponder. In 2005 I bet this was a real treat. Almost 20 years later it still holds up. V is a very interesting character with a lot going on. His mystery and voice from the impeccable Hugo Weaving expand this film into epic territory. Natalie Portman is a wonderful sidekick to V's madness and the story unfolds in thrilling fashion.
"Freedom" itself has become pretty cliché these days but V does his best pulling off an epic battle against an authoritarian government. The London backdrop is an interesting choice and makes more sense than setting it in the United States. The rich history on display gives the film some flare and really delivers.
If you're looking for an epic political showdown in a dystopian setting this should do the trick. The action, dialogue, and characters really hit the mark.
