In Living Memory (1994)
Have the tissue handy..you'll need them.
What a beautiful movie. A fresh angle on the holocaust. Simple, yet elegant. No expense spared. Compelling. Emotional. Need I say more? Performances flawless. Direction superb. Cinematography stunning.
Slipper (2001)
If you want to laugh like you have never done before, see this!
This short is a brilliant example of the medium. Short, sweet, and very funny. The lead performance is amazing, this girl has comic timing down to an art, and her screen presence is dynamite! The script is materfully written. Exposing an insight to a world that I haven't seen before. The style of the film blends right into the world created, and shows the director knows more than a thing or two about telling a story. If you get a chance to see this film, drop everything and watch it. You will be doing yourself a favor.
Boy (1997)
Boy oh Boy...I can't believe a short film can be so thrilling.
This short is such an intriguing piece. Dark, engaging, mysterious, thrilling, beautiful. The script is genius. It hooks you in, and flips you every way possible. The effortless direction is masterful. From the sculptured performances to the tantalizing images. Is it no wonder then this film has won awards. Well done to all those involved.
The Venus Factory (1998)
Wow!
If you want to see a movie that isn't glossed over like BOOGIE NIGHTS, then this is the one. Set in the Aussie porn industry, there are no holes barred; excuse the pun! The mis-match of color and character contrasts the dark subject into a friendly movie, that had me thinking hours after viewing. I am very eager to see the next movie to be directed by Glenn Fraser. If Venus Factory is anything to go by, I am in for a treat.
