Big Bite (2003)
The Funniest Sketch Show Since The Comedy Sale!!
The Big Bite would have to be the wildest, freshest, most original comedy sketch show to appear on Australian Tv in years!! I love it and hope it runs for ever!!
Already I am looking forward to the DVD release and hearing the commentary tracks by the performers and writers!! Just imagine hearing the origins of MrG from the minds that created him!! I can't wait. These guys are genius.
Where Monty Python went wrong, Big Bite goes so right!! Where Fast Forward is getting old - Big Bite showcases nothing but the very best in El Primo Aussie comic talent. Where do they come up with the ideas to parody the panel every week?
Put it on a bit earlier tho Channel Seven! It's already on past my bed time!!
The Honourable Wally Norman (2003)
The Funniest Australian Comedy Since Reckless Kelly!!
I saw this movie at a special screening in Melbourne last year before the music track was added and I must say, it is the funniest Aussie film since the heyday of Yahoo Serious!!
I simply loved the small town characters and their interactions with one another were hilarious. We truly are a weird mob!
And when Roy or HG appeared I thought, what a masterstroke! As he is my favourite of the two. Also, Sean Micallef is very, very funny and deserves his current success.
The directing is just what you'd expect from the man who brought us Kath and Kim. Sharp, funny and as Australian as meat pies!
The writing is top notch. Quite original. It's your classic small town guy taking on the big guys scenario. If you enjoyed The Castle and The Dish and The Nugget and The Craic and The Club and The Bank and then I heartily recommend The Honourable Wally Norman!!
Although I don't think Wally should have died in the end, it was a real downer on an otherwise hilarious film!
