3 Musketeers (2011)
A complete waste of time...
I never imagined getting frustrated watching a movie so pathetically made. I'm not sure what the producers are thinking using 3 musketeers as a title. they made a mockery on the original in order to gain a hype to watch this movie. I'm completely disgusted! if anyone is planning to see this movie, please spare your misery and don't watch this as this might just ruin your day. I suggest go out and have time with your family instead. All in all Fast forward button was my friend watching this movie. All in all I rate this movie 2 of 10. If you are to watch this movie, don't get your hopes high as you will definitely just waste your time.
Everything Is Illuminated (2005)
Brilliant movie!
I was struck by how this movie played out when I watched it. I was not expecting too much but the movie took me thru history and time traveled to the past. The cast played their part really well, special mention to Elijah and Boris for their portrayal. Story was very unique and well paced with minimal dull gaps (usually happens for indie films). Personally, I was impressed on how the director was able to make such a movie so interesting and great. I have high emotions after watching this film. Thumbs up to the actors and the people behind this movie. I would definitely recommend to all. I hope all filmmakers are able to replicate such work of art.
Flipped (2010)
Not your typical coming of age story, Brilliant!
I watched the film with less expectation but I was immediately hooked. The plot was well organized and the characters are strung together neatly. The main characters Bryce and Juli are really cute. I was left wondering my days back in elementary school, the teenage love, mood swings, unpredictable behavior and the never ending saga of changes. Although there are some parts that I suppose can add more substance like the character of professor Simon. After watching the movie I was left quietly sitting in our living room area and just stare blankly and I was smiling (sounds crazy but it's true). These are low budget movies with every bit of penny worth it. I give it 10 out of 10 stars as I was deeply happy on the outcome of the film.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011)
you are left with many questions
First, I would like to state that I just recently viewed the entire Harry Potter series and I got hook. I haven't read or even seen the book yet. But I suppose I need to read the entire book to fully appreciate this epic movie. When I finished watching the preceding Harry Potter movies I was able to grasp and enjoy the plot with a lot of twist. Thus, I was determined to watch the ending movie DH2. But when the movie was done. I tried to feel the atmosphere of the movie house and everyone was quiet. I didn't even hear a whisper or a hush of their excitement watching the final saga of Harry Potter. I was seated to a group of people who was chatting about the story and from the sound of it they have read the book prior to seeing the movie. There are movies that puts you in a position wherein the movie takes you on a journey and it carries you to a ride. I would describe this feel like a ferris wheel. It peaks when you go the top but then drops again then goes up and the cycle goes on.
It was as if the director was putting anticipation on to the viewers and not the other way around wherein the films give you a full view of the outcome and satisfaction but it lets you crave on it and wish for more (may sound vague but that's what I felt). The overall pacing was awful as in my point of view the movie didn't peaked at the right time and the ending was too anti-climactic.
The actors performed at par with the exception of Ralph Fiennes, who did a marvelous job with being the villain Lord Voldemort. I don't think the story is bad. I just think that movie could have been better considering there are two parts for this installment. 5 of 10 stars.
It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010)
Feel good movie!
I would first start saying that I am only a regular movie watcher not a legit film critic. I am making this review to express my opinion on how the movie came to me. I would not go into details but the movie just embodies several good moral lessons a person must have. I, myself admit that I was awakened by this movie. It isn't an extravagant movie but well worth the watch in my opinion. I liked how the plot was done and how the characters complement each other. This is a must watch for people who are stressed, burned out or fuzzy. Keir Gilchrist gave justice to the lead character and so was Zach Galifianakis. After watching, I just felt good and contented.
